Well, finals are over. No more pencils, no more books, all that jazz. You can tell it's late when I start mixing my song lyrics. Still not quite sure how I feel about that. Hell, I'm not sure it's sunk in at all.

Today, or tomorrow, or however you define Thursday is going to be Massive Amounts of Packing Day. I'm almost done with my room, which means I need to pack the kitchen. I hate packing the kitchen with a vengeance, namely because a good portion of the stuff in it is mine. For those of you wondering why I'm posting the warning - and a warning it is - it's because packing stresses me out like none other. It's the biggest indication that finals are over and life is moving on, except while I still have to fit my entire life out here into a set number of boxes, I won't be going home and I won't be coming back to Pepperdine in the fall. It's scary and frustrating as all hell and a necessary evil. What this means is I'll be online, but I'll be anywhere from mildly to completely incoherent and might be leaning on people over AIM in overwhelming stress and woe. If you want to try to keep me sane, God bless you and I much appreciate the effort. If I bother the hell out of you, I'm sorry in advance.

I'm going to top this off with a todo list, because I need one of those and I'm keeping it here now that my white board is packed.

To Do:

- Pack remainder of room
- Pack kitchen
- Figure out who's taking what food in kitchen
- Clean out fridge
- Send Shannon's package
- Email work
- Do a load of laundry. Pack said load.
- Donate choir dress to Fine Arts office
- Find out about handicapped stuff for Granny
- Call Rent-A-Wreck
- Hand wash dresses

I'm sure there's more but I can't remember it at twenty past two in the morning.
Lit Theory final.

Thirty minutes.

See you all on the other side.

Lit Theory final in...three hours. Should be interesting, to say the least. At least it's only 15% of my grade, unlike the 40% that was the giant paper of death last week.

Incidentally, I hope people are not still holding things hostage over that paper. *slooooooow eyebrow* ...nah, y'all know I love you. |D

Word to the wise: if you intend to use your iPod for three hours, make sure it's charged first. I'm staring at the little sliver of battery mine has left and just hoping. |D

MY WOOT SHIRT HAS A HOLE IN IT D: That awesome Night Owl shirt that I got from the Random Shirt sale? Quarter-sized hole in the seam. I emailed Woot my problem and my size, and they're going to send me another random shirt. I suppose this means I take Night Owl home and take a needle and thread to it. Of course, from the glass-half-full viewpoint, I got two shirts for seven bucks. I am still saddened about the hole, though. >:

My other two shirts did come in, though, just in time for me to wash them and wear them at home over Christmas break. Given they are Christmas shirts, I figured this was an awesome thing. :Db

And I cannot bloody wait for RiffTrax tonight. Hopefully I can get a good amount of packing done before then.

Finally! [livejournal.com profile] nalina is having a:

Know someone who loves art or freaking fantastic jewelry? Check this sale out! [livejournal.com profile] nalina makes all sorts of awesome and beautiful stuffs - I've bought several pieces from her and they get compliments every time I wear them. Very high quality, very good pricing, very pretty. :3 Go check it out!

Seriously, I think I flubbed choreography all of twice? In six dances? And they were small things that the video didn't catch, so. Huzzah. I'd call that a success. :D

...yes, there is video if anybody is desperate to see it. I'll figure out how to get all 457 MB of it up somewhere.

While we're talking about finals, the Intro to Acting final yesterday went just fine. I managed to convince everybody that I was completely out of my tree, which, given that the goal of the monologue was to convince people I was not crazy despite my subject material, was hilarious. I believe I'm looking at a solid A in both of those classes, huzzah huzzah. Now I have to study for and pass Lit Theory, my only written final, tomorrow.

In other news, SodaHead still hasn't gotten back to me despite the fact that I called them yesterday (rrrgh) and DEX told me Monday that they want me to get a pre-employment drug screening at least a week before they hire me. Okay, sure, cool. They also want me to go to a specific clinic in Oxnard, forty-five minutes away, to do it. Okay, not cool. Guess who just sent an email to get tomorrow's shift covered and is rolling her rear out of bed extra early to travel for a nearly two hour long round trip?

Swear to God, my roomie is a saint for taking me all these places. Definitely getting myself a car for next semester, even if I have to drag Chupathingy up here myself.

AND NOW FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT: Watch for a new Randomizer tonight! We're going into the studio soon's my work shift is over for the last episode of the semester. That'll be up later~

Speaking of music, indulge my curiousity, flist: who all uses iTunes? I should like to know. |D
Finals week starts today. My first final is in thirty minutes.

MY GOODNESS ONE WEEK LEFT. How time flies. :Db
I keep telling myself I'll update this journal, and then it doesn't happen. Go me. XD

Yes, I am home safe. I've been here since Friday afternoon. I'm actually sleeping at night. It's a fantastic feeling, that.

So yeah. Finals rundown.

Oh like y'all care about my academia XD )

But yeah, I made it out of those intact and somehow got home in one piece (and without the T-Virus Swine Flu, knock wood). I was told by one of my managers that I would likely be re-hired on Wednesday (after Cinco de Mayo, so there goes that plan), which would give me my old job at On the Border back. I also have an application for The Plate - they're this high class little place that's hiring cocktail waitresses. I could totally serve booze to people and smile. I'm thinking it might be a step up so far as tip-affected salary goes. There's also a new Red Lobster opening, so I'm applying there as well. We'll just have to see how everything works out. If all else fails, with any luck I'll still have OTB.

Paixao is rolling again (yay!) and DC decided finals week would be a great time to drop epic plot. I swear one or more of my characters is going to get killed or severely injured by the time all this is over. XD

But I know there's one reason y'all are reading this: I have dogs, and I've been promising you all pictures of them for forever. XD

Puppy Pictures! :D )

So that's my life so far in convenient spam format. It shall be served with ham and eggs and possibly featured in a Monty Python sketch.
my thread

In other news, I survived my Humanities final and have only just realized I have a metric flipton of stuff to do before tomorrow. Despite this, I am debating starting another Pandemic game. It's addictive, I swear ;;;

Aaaaand I have We Will Rock You stuck in my head, where it's been firmly implanted and playing on loop since about eleven this morning. *stares at [livejournal.com profile] universejuice*

Portfolio review went better than I expected (very little editing, HELL YEAH). 405 take home final is not as bad as I thought it would be, though I still need to finish it.

Humanities final is tomorrow, for which I am only kind of studying. I did get a very interesting email pertaining to it, though. Here it is, cut straight from my inbox:

I think my school mail just got trolled. I didn't know that was possible. )

...yeah. What.

Evidently this guy is for real, since it did come from a valid Pepperdine email address and was the type of full class email you can send from Blackboard. I'm not sure if I should admire him for growing a moral backbone or report him for cheating. Hell, I'm not even sure if he's serious. Either way, crazy bastard is not getting my notes. I wonder if he'll even show up in class tomorrow.

...I just realized how much studying I have to do. This is not the first time I've considered leaning out the window and yelling HEEEEEEEEAAAALP, if only to see if it actually works.
First of all, [livejournal.com profile] lynxgriffin is a saint. Her noble actions have enabled me to not die this coming week. Thank you so much, hon~ ♥

...yay :D

So yes! Finals. Poe study group. [livejournal.com profile] orelle_peredhil, [livejournal.com profile] memoryofpride, Liz told me she's presenting her thesis on Tuesday, but she's okay with the three of us having a study group that night. I was thinking we could photocopy her notes from the class presentations, and each of us could take notes on one topic (nonfiction and letters, Silverman, and fiction and poems), so we could all exchange notes and study together on Tuesday night. I feel like that would be more efficient. I chatted [livejournal.com profile] memoryofpride up about it, and she volunteered to take Silverman. [livejournal.com profile] orelle_peredhil, would you be okay taking nonfiction and letters, since I don't have a Portable Poe and would be getting them from different places? Is everyone okay with this?

405 was indeed a take home final - she emailed it to us earlier today. I'm not sure how I feel about that one, but I'm getting it done (mostly so I don't have to stay after in class and do it then). Religion's getting together a study group - I'll see what I can do about getting in on that.

I need to go print out my portfolio now so I can get it marked up by my 405 teacher tomorrow. Wheeeee.

Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] universejuice? I'm really glad I picked up J too, because that means I get to thread with you and your awesomeness. :D I'm particularly fond of the belting-one's-lungs-out-while-beating-down-crabs idea. We should plan epic stuff. :D

...which will likely take place after Finals Week. |D

...sleep. Sleep is good.
I'm fully expecting this to be all over the place, since I'm tired. |D

MAJOR CRAZY PLOT STUFF went down in DC and in Paixao tonight. I am quite pleased at the turnout for both. Jafar muse has come roaring back, Rosette is definitely being a leader in her own right, and I have never seen Silver so angry. He should be fun to play like that. Also, J makes me facepalm every time I tag for him. Not sure if that means I'm doing it right or what.

STUDY GROUPS. Study groups need to happen. [livejournal.com profile] memoryofpride, [livejournal.com profile] orelle_peredhil, when can we meet? Tomorrow after noon or Monday before 3 would work well for me (especially since my finals schedule is still in the gorram air, but that's a rant for another post) - how're things looking for you guys? Can either of you get ahold of Liz?

Went to Cheesecake Factory tonight with my roomie - fantastic experience, per usual. The new appetizer menu is awesome, and our server was awesome as the day is long (though roomie and I exchanged sidelong glances when she introduced herself as Rose - Doctor reference, whut). I think we scared the hell out of the manager, though - I asked for him to come by the table so I could tell him how awesome Rose was, and he walked up looking like we were about to rip his face off. I'll bet, since it was ridiculously busy, that he'd been chewed out more than once that night. I'll also bet he was relatively new at the position. The sigh of relief he breathed when we said Rose was awesome and our night was great was almost funny to watch. Poor guy probably doesn't get much of that. Either way, there is chocolate raspberry truffle cheesecake in our fridge and I am a happy camper about that.

My mom brought Mac and Finn - the new greyhounds - home yesterday. We might not keep Mac. That's another long story.

I need colored ink for my printer. The bookstore is closed tomorrow. This'll be interesting.

AND FINALLY. I'm three hours late but the thought still counts:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY [livejournal.com profile] travitaemorte!

"We did it!" "Wasn't it terrifying?" "What a night!"

Evidently my crappiest class this whole semester was only worth $5.50. That's how much the book sold for at the bookstore, at least. I finished my final, though. With any luck I actually passed it too...yeah, I think I did okay. Finals are over and I'm at [livejournal.com profile] lynxgriffin's place watching her play Re:CoM. Wild Crush is about the funniest thing ever.

...yeah, I'm totally posting this on very little sleep or motivation.

I'll be in Colorado tomorrow. Evidently my aunt is down, and the first time she'll see me in years will be me sleep deprived, jet lagged, and just all around bushed coming off that plane. Good times.

I might put my wishlist up in a bit.

Three finals today. |D

Rhetoric was...interesting. My professor said she wanted to make it "basic" since she knew we'd been working hard on our papers. This would have worked if we'd all studied in addition to doing our papers. She started giving us hints to questions we weren't getting.

This is to say, I love my rhetoric prof. XD

I'm actually going to lock down the paper I have posted now - once I get feedback from her on my final draft, I'll post it on my writing journal.

Second final was History, for which I did not study either. :D The prompt asked us what was the most important decade of the 20th century and what was the least important (sixties and twenties, respectively, in terms of lasting social change). That...was total BS. I'm okay with that. |D

Third final was Shakespeare, which was the take home paper I was doing until the wee hours of last night/this morning. Evidently it wasn't due until 9 a.m. Thursday. I didn't know that. I turned it in early, evidently. *pats own back*

Tomorrow...is Religion. Screw you, Religion. I'm freaking exhausted and I need to clean my room, and those have somehow become greater priorities.

...I'm goin' home on Friday. :D

Saturday I meet with Les at 3 and we get me back on the schedule for December. I am so looking forward to this. :D

But for now, sleep. Sleep is good.

...please do not ask me why an entry that will likely be comprised of a finals schedule and a todo list has a title from a Dane Cook routine. Just. I have no idea.

First off, thank you sooooo much for everybody who read my paper and suggested revisions! I'll reply to them after this and I'll probably implement them tonight. In the meantime, if anyone hasn't looked at the paper yet, please do if you have time. It'll really help me out. :3

Second, because I'd like to keep my head on straight, a finals schedule:

10:30 - 1: Rhetoric (Final)
1:30 - 4: History (Final)
4:30 - 7: Shakespeare (Turn in paper)
1:30 - 4: Religion (Final)

...lot of studying tonight. @_@

And the infamous todo list, organized by due dates:

Write Shakespeare final essay
Revise Rhetoric final paper
Study Rhetoric
Study History

Study Religion
Gamma Phi Christmas cards
Gamma Phi newsletter
Clean room (after final)
Vacuum (after final)
Clean out fridge (after final)
Pack (after final)
Online flight checkin (10:30 a.m.)

Patrick's birthday present
Christmas presents
Secret Santa
Set up Standards programs
Sisterhood notebook
Post wish list
Officer Reports (wow these are late)
Go through [livejournal.com profile] holiday_wishes and see if I can't grant any

...funny how sleep is always on these lists, yet it is rarely accomplished.

OH. AND. If I owe you music, or if you posted a Christmas card post, or if you put up a wish list, please remind/link me here. I have been so absentminded this semester it's not even funny and I'd like to make sure I get everybody. This is my "sanity realignment" post. Thankyew~
...every time, I tell myself not to leave a paper until the last minute. Every time, I fail to take my own advice. IF I CAN POUND OUT THREE OR SO MORE PAGES OF RHETORIC AND A BIBLIOGRAPHY TONIGHT THEN I WILL BE FINISHED...and can marathon my Shakespeare essay tomorrow. And study for my Rhetoric and History finals, which are on Wednesday.

...I get myself into some fantastic pickles sometimes, don't I.

...does anybody know how to cite unpublished documents?

EDIT: OH. AND. Extra userpics ran out. Have a sad Kia.

I figured after about a week of running around in a panic with my brain on fire (evidently midterms are bad for me), I should give you all an update.

Whoever made this pasta put way too much pepper in it; that is not, however, what this cut is about. )

Kind of a long and rambly and random update, but I'm braindead and still need to study for the killer religion midterm tomorrow. Coherent thought processes are for the weak.
Well, my rhetoric midterm's over. Glory hallelujah. It wasn't quite as bad as I thought it'd be, but...well, we'll see. With any luck, my recent trend in essays will hold up. My others are next week, so I'll have a bit more time to study.

For now, however, we have some lists:

Tonight )

Homework )

RP )

General Stuff )

I hold no illusions of finishing everything; however, I'd love to get at least the homework list done.

And finally, one of those ubiquitous Halloween memes (and yes, that is my costume this year):

I'm not quite as worried about the rhetoric midterm tomorrow (er, later today) as I was an hour ago.

I'll reply to comments/tags/whatever else tomorrow.

That is all.

Because I need a list in order to keep my head properly screwed on, and also to show me just how freaking screwed I really am. Yes I know I just did one of these STFU.

- Revise English 215 Paper GLORY HALLELUJAH
- Creative Writing Portfolio, to include:
~ Poem 2 & Reflection
~ Story 1 & Reflection
~ Story 2 & Reflection
~ Story 3 & Reflection
~ Drama Reflection
- Study for Rel 102 test
- Pack my entire freaking room
- Print boarding pass
- Send package home
- This space reserved for Stuff I Forgot

This is my to do list for the next two days. Epic, innit.

Oh, and I got a letter from housing today. I was all excited, hoping maybe I'd gotten news on my status - hey, maybe my housing problems would be solved!

So what's in the envelope?

An off-campus survival guide.

It's three pages long, and it has handy tips for getting and keeping an apartment, such as Keep a Signed Copy of Your Lease and Lock Your Doors. Accompanying it is a letter stating that I'm still on the waiting list (oh grand), it's entirely possible I might not get housing next year (oh joy), and be sure to call them if I have any questions!

You see this here, Housing? You see this? This is my face. Slap it. Go ahead, Housing, slap it good and hard. You obviously haven't done it enough this past month, so go on. Have fun.

I'm going to go work on my assorted papers now.
