Five days in Colorado was exactly the vacation I needed. I just need to remember next time that I need to drink a lot more - because dehydration headaches suck - and I can't drink pretty much anything - which sucks when Mom's buying and asking if I want a margarita because they're really great here and here, try hers and see if I like it. Honestly, I know my mom is happy to have me around whenever I come home, and I think she likes having someone who'll go out for fruity drinks and conversation. She likes having mother-daughter time.

In all honesty, it was really nice to have someone else make the decisions and the schedule and just follow along - a break from being a responsible adult, as it were. I put a ton of pressure on myself with to-do lists and self-imposed deadlines and all of that, and it was nice to get to just put all that on hold for an extended weekend and hang out with my parents. My younger brother is at college, my older brother came by for an afternoon, and I didn't get to see my sister-in-law or niece, but there's a flipton of drama surrounding that that I'd rather not get into right now. |D Either which way, I did love seeing my family. The football game was fun to go to even if it ended horribly (which is what happens when all of your starting defensive line is sidelined with injuries - the BSU game at the end of this week is going to be painful), shopping with mom was actually a lot more fun than most of my recent shopping trips have been, Sequence is a fun game if a bit slow with only two players, the new house is beautiful, and...yeah. Hell yes Colorado. :Db I do regret getting the donut burger, though. Remind me to post pictures of that.

The only thing I'm worried about is Finn. Since my parents moved into the new house, he's gone pretty much crazy: he's ripped up his kennel when they put him in it when they leave (whereas Mac just curls up in his and naps until they get home), he whines like mad, he's losing weight - he's skinny even for a greyhound, which is worrying - and he just generally Does Not Look Good. Mom's bringing him in to the vet's and, if that doesn't work, possibly a dog whisperer, because he never used to do any of this stuff, and if we give him up or, God forbid, put him down - which is a very sad option if he continues on being this destructively miserable and we can't find the reason and calm him down - then Mac will go ballistic without him around. The dog situation at home is not good, but I'm really hoping it'll turn out for the better.

A little closer to the west coast, my bosses are out of the office all week (Hawaiian vacation, lucky them), so I'm on my own and keeping busy with whatever project updates come up. This Friday, I head to Disneyland for the Halloween party with [livejournal.com profile] amorsinseramada, [livejournal.com profile] lynxgriffin, and [livejournal.com profile] universejuice, and sticking around on Saturday as well. Costumes aren't quite finished yet, but those are priorities for the next few nights. It's just a bit of cutting and hemming (and praying shoes come in on time), so it shouldn't be too bad. I hope.

On the fandom works front, [livejournal.com profile] secondcityrpg is almost over and Rarity has been accepted at [livejournal.com profile] itsjustagamerpg - I just need to join the comms and get going. Tron fic is on hold until I get to rewatch Legacy - maybe sometime next week - and while I haven't done much for my NaNo outline, I have been kicking around ideas for it, so hopefully that'll start coming together soon. Again, next week's priority.

Who all's doing NaNo this year, by the way? I'd love to know - something tells me I'll need people to lean on come November. |D
So there's this thing called a LJ, and apparently I have one in which I'm not actually pretending to be a fictional character. OR AM I

I really ought to update this more often, huh.

Life has gone insane! Also, I tend to spam Plurk with my odd little one-off thoughts, which means my Plurk gets spammed all the time, since I tend to think almost exclusively in odd little one-offs. Both of these would pretty much explain why I've been scarce, at least in this neck of the woods.

[livejournal.com profile] itsjustagamerp has been open for a few weeks now, and I love everyone and everything in it. Pinkie Pie playing radioactive soup, Tom Servo running an ill-fated D&D session, Aqua getting jealous over the attention Minako is paying Terra, the epic pun-off at Kaldur, and everything that could possibly go wrong in Terra and Linkara's reluctantly budding friendship going, of course, horribly wrong have all just made this game fantastic, and that is the tip of the iceberg.

I'm way behind on [livejournal.com profile] secondcityrpg, or at least it feels that way. Maybe I'm just way behind on Jason tags, which happens more often than I'd really like to admit. Rarity might be riding a dragon into battle, which is hilarious and head-tiltingly odd all at once, and Linkara is being Linkara.

Work...is work. We've tried to space projects out, but given unexpected delays, they're all raining on us at once, which is going to make this week all sorts of interesting. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel for one, though - depending on what shows up in my inbox tomorrow morning, that is either the way out or an oncoming train. It pretty much remains to be seen.

My resolution to finish fics before NaNo is going slowly. I only have one chapter of bitty!Terra left, but I also want to finish the Tron fic, and that is giving me creative problems (basically, I still can't write fight scenes or intros, what else is new). I need to attack it when I'm not bushed, exceedingly busy, or burnt out from other things.

...so basically, sometime next year. |Db

There is probably a lot more that should go into this, but I can't think of it right now. Instead, have an awesome gif.

Two and a half weeks later, I finally update my journal. At two in the morning.

Two's a great number, guys.

For those of you wondering where on Earth I've been...well, I moved, and that pretty much destroyed my free time. I've been in various states of packing and unpacking since then, I'm trying to time the very different commute to my same job, and I'm settling into a new place. It's been a crazy, interesting time.

Second City is still in the throes of DEAR GOD WHAT EVEN endgame, which is another reason this journal hasn't been updated much - I'm forever in a character journal, trying to move the plot along. The eleventh pillar is Excalibur the round table a shrubbery. Yes. I'm on to you, mods.

Also! Apps for [livejournal.com profile] itsjustagamerp have opened! It's Just A Game is a MST3K based game involving comedy, a bit of slice of life (as much Slice of Life as you can get on the Satellite of Love, at least - SOL on SOL, as it were), and a flipton of making fun of terrible things. I'm a mod. You guys should totally join. :Db

Once the writing bug hits me again, I've made it my goal to finish all of my in-progress works (with the exception of Take Two Grown-Ups) before October, since I'm going to spend October outlining my NaNoWriMo project and November writing it. Yeah, I'm taking the plunge. This will be...interesting. |D This also means I have a month and some change to finish the long-overdue bitty!Terra drabbles, the KH3/Tron crossover, and the D&D!BBS fic. I'm considering the Ponies crossover officially abandoned. That may change somewhere along the line, but right now those three are enough work on my plate.

And now, there is this lovely thing called sleeping that I'm going to go try to do. Yes.
I should probably start updating this more than once in a blue moon, huh. |D

I'm up to 90 minutes a night of internet time on my self-imposed online restriction. It gives me a bit more time to do tags and whatnot, but it's still not enough to really hang out and chat. I think what I miss doing most is just turning on AIM and reading a book or something while holding the occasional conversation. I feel like I have to be focused while online or I am Wasting Time. It's a different way to look at things, certainly; tbh, I just miss multitasking.

COMIC CON IS IN FIVE DAYS HOLY CRAP. WHAT IS THIS I DON'T EVEN. I think this is the most convoluted and detailed any of my cosplays have ever been, and even now I'm still assembling bits. I live for the last minute, don'cha know 8Db It should be fun, though, and I'm looking forward to seeing all sorts of people and meeting [livejournal.com profile] bouncy_erbear! Because awesomeness attracts awesomeness, yes? Yes.

TBH, aside from freaking out about Comic Con and the upcoming move, nothing much of note is going on in the Life and Times of Kia. Work is work is work, and I usually get home from that and work on something - editing or cosplay or whatever needs working on. The huge Disney tribute is on hold for now, as is every other editing project I have going on, on account of - you guessed it - SDCC being right around the corner. My priorities might be a tad skewed, but I do have them. Also, most anime conventions won't let you enter a Disney music video, yes? It probably has to be mostly anime or game footage.

RP is...we're screwed. Just gonna lay that down. We are screwed. |D Also, I might not be tagging Jason for a bit because of recent NSFW Extremely Not Okay happenstances in this season of True Blood, so don't wait on me there.

Does anybody know what's going on at [livejournal.com profile] kh_drabble? It's a fun challenge, and we've had quite a few entries, but I don't remember any other time when there've been virtually zero comments on any of them. Is everyone just busy this week? \O_o/

Because this entry isn't disorganized enough: cosplay! Razor Wit finally arrived today, which means I went out of my mind for about an hour unpacking it and squeeing like a moron and trying to figure out picture poses (and subsequently scraping up one arm, but hey, worth it). I have odds and ends for most of my costumes, but my big thing's been putting together costumes for [livejournal.com profile] amorsinseramada. She's agreed to join our Friday MLP group, so I'm getting a Pinkie Pie costume together for her, and she chose her other one going solo, so I'm making her a Candlejack getup. That's bound to be hila

( Jun. 17th, 2011 12:39 am)
- IC I Never is a ridiculous amount of fun. Sunday proved that you can totally play against characters you don't know; Monday proved that it could be done over Skype, though in person is much better.
- Way in advance, but I'm really looking forward to this upcoming Gallifrey.
- I have a Plurk now! I have given in to the masses. The name is Kiaxet. Friend me.
- Second City is having a Fourth Wall Event! Throw your characters in! Have fun! Let's all be derps together!
- I drove for three hours in gray and drizzle today, all job-related, and it just wiped me out. LA traffic is not a happy thing.
- I can't figure out if I want to do Disneyland this weekend or not. I think it's going to wind up depending on Whether I Feel Like It Or Not the day of - no other factors. We'll see.

Finally - because this took me forever - I wrote another Bitty Terra drabble! There are only two left after this one. I'm almost done. It feels weird.

Either way, please beta the hell out of it and enjoy! :Db

Aqua had never thought a door could be scary. )
SO MUCH STUFF HAS HAPPENED IN THE PAST WEEKS I DON'T EVEN.

I've been really, really busy, and I really should've been updating this journal consistently, but I'm a lazy bum and you all know that. No ponies this time - just lots and lots of text.

The Wedding! )

Disneyland! )

E3! )

In other, non-huge-event-related news, work's going smoothly - we finished one project and have another almost done, huzzah :D - I managed to find someone to make Razor Wit for $300 including shipping, RP's going well (until the mods throw another curveball at us, but hey, that happens), and I'm thinking of trundling down to Disneyland again on the 18th if anyone's interested. Also, I got a bitty!Terra drabble written for the first time in over two months - having nothing to do while your car gets new tires will definitely give you some focus.

So basically, life's pretty good. I'm okay with this. |Db
Life goes insane when I'm not looking. Then again, it goes insane even when I am, so I don't see how that makes a difference.

So far as large media events go, congrats to the happy royal couple, and I have a newfound respect for Navy SEALs and Special Forces. My opinions on the whole Osama thing aren't necessarily of the popular variety - I did not attend or throw any dead man's parties - and I am experiencing intense secondhand embarrassment on behalf of a friend pertaining to the situation, so. As far as I'm concerned, that's enough about that.

The jokes on Twitter were flat hilarious, though. I'll give the Twitterati that.

As far as work goes, I've been herding cats nonstop. I might actually be working late some nights this week, because deadline's approaching for two projects and a third really can't afford to be delayed any longer, not to mention we just now heard back about a project that's been on hold for the better part of a month and that might be entering the fray again soon too. Needless to say, I've been absolutely busy as hell and bouncing emails off just about everyone in my little virtual rolodex. It's nuts. I am yay close to rewriting the latter part of Art of the Dress to fit my work, because "Deadline looms/don't you know the client's always right" describes my job right about now.

The RP front is going pretty well. I sincerely want the Postmen to tag Rarity back, since I'm sure that will be hilarious and a half, Jason is confused by ponies and needs more CR, and I'm just playing catchup with Linkara. Rosette is...pretty well gone, I think, but that's life. I poked around ATP to try to finish out our Ponies and BBS casts, and I will be beside myself with glee if that Sweetie Belle apps to the game. Yes, please.

On a far more important note, in the wake of the massively destructive tornadoes in the south, [livejournal.com profile] helpthesouth has been set up. In the vein of [livejournal.com profile] help_japan and other help communities, it's an auction community meant to raise money for the victims of the tornadoes. I don't know if anyone's seen the end result - [livejournal.com profile] cleolinda has a detailed summary and quite a few links if you haven't - but the destruction is massive and widespread and they need all the help they can get. I encourage everyone to either put up an auction or bid on something. My auctions are here and here.

On a final, completely cracky note - there's a Deltora Quest anime on the Hub. I'm not sure if anybody else even knows these books exist, but I think my nostalgia just keeled over from shock. What is this I seriously don't even.
It's been a while, huh. I need to quit neglecting this journal. As it is, it's after midnight and I have work in the morning, so this'll be a pretty quick rundown.

My dad is doing fine! He's been taking it easy and not working ridiculous hours anymore (glory hallelujah) and he's doing a lot better, at least according to mom. They've also found a house and put a bid on it, so we'll see how that goes. Will they be moved before the family reunion? Probably not, but they've definitely got their eyes on it.

My first video shoot went pretty well, all things considered. We shot video for a project at work on Friday - rented out a studio and everything. The talent we cast (that I spent time interviewing and basically got first say on who played who, yeah baby) worked really well together, and we got thirty scenes shot in about six hours - not bad at all, actually. There were a few tense moments, and one in which I managed to spill makeup on an actor's suit jacket (note to self: Leslie is doing the makeup from now on because ARGH), but overall it went pretty well. Rick was happy, Leslie was happy, Terrence was happy, and I was bushed, so I figure life is good.

In other news, getting LA County workers together for a conference call is like herding cats. I kind of want business cards with "professional cat herder" on them now. (And yes, I have seen the commercial, and yes, it is hilarious.)

Disneyland with [livejournal.com profile] lynxgriffin on Sunday! It was pretty low key, though I spent more on souvenirs then I think I ever have at Disneyland - blame it on getting my Disneyland In A Box prize together for my [livejournal.com profile] help_japan winner. The POTC preview that they have is amusing, Blackbeard freaks me the hell out and I love it, and the show beforehand is cute and hilarious by turns. On the downside, there is no group rate for special seats for Fantasmic, so I either need to finagle something or give up on that one for my birthday. We'll see how things go there. I do love spending time at that park, though - so lovely and relaxing. ♥

In RP news, I've got Jason Stackhouse in Second City - we've only gotten as far as him thinking Pinkie Pie is somehow a drug flashback, and I don't want to handwave things until that thread gets a little further, so we'll see. Linkara is in over his head - per usual - Rarity is loud and abuses italics like whoa - per usual - and Rosette...I'm really tempted to drop her, if only because nothing is happening with her. I think I'm past the point where I can successfully get into her head and play her well - my lack of interest and her lack of CR have pretty well made that obvious. Honestly, I think DC might've closed the book on things with her, and I've been trying to find an epilogue instead of enjoying it for the fantastic story it was. Again - and I have been using this phrase far too much - we'll see.

Finally, as if I don't do enough writing, I'm thinking of picking up one of those 100 Themes challenges and getting one down every day. Even if they're not all that good, if all else fails, it'll at least guarantee that I write 100 words every day, and I think I need something constant like that.

Yeah, that's about it. Bedtime now, I think.
Does anyone want small fic or mini fanmixes? Anyone? Bueller?

After a week of putting nothing up but fic (and with the full intention to do the same, albeit with hopefully more sleep thrown in there somewhere), I've finally come back to put up life updates.

...nothing much has happened, really. |D

Well, okay, that's not strictly true. I've decided to go full-time at Relate, the company where I've been temping for the past month (and yes, it has been that long, holy cow). I didn't ever hear back from that other interview to begin with, and even if I had, I've been doing a good deal of thinking and realized it wasn't the smartest of plans to ditch a position I was used to and quite liked for something that might be good that I might like. Of course, that still means hauling my rear to Camarillo five days a week, but it's a beautiful drive and thirty minutes of daydreaming or outlining or just singing along to the radio, and that's not a bad way to start the day.

Honestly, not a ton has been going on. I've been working a lot, and I'm not sure how much of that I can talk about, since I'm not sure how much is covered by NDAs. It's work, and work is good.

Thanks to living with two movie aficionados, I've been seeing a few lately. If you like your superhero movies trope-subverting and irreverent, Green Hornet is worth seeing. If you like your romcoms snarky and relatively true-to-life and don't mind them being about people having lots and lots of (rather tastefully done!) sex, No Strings Attached is worth seeing. If you have a brain in your head or are capable of thought in any capacity, The Social Network is worth seeing. Yes, I know I'm late to that party. Yes, I know it tastes vaguely of Oscar Bait. No, I don't care. It's fantastic.

The RP front has been pretty eventful lately, what with Holy Grail shenanigans and getting the plot Linkara's tangled up in up and running and potentially figuring out a way for Keyblade!Linkara to happen (any time a plot idea makes me cackle madly, I take it as a good sign). There's also a thread up for Levitas that I need to get into - it might be time for a canon review for him, since my brain seems to be running on either bitty Keyblade wielder or snarky internet review most times. Also, there's a Mechakara on dear_mun that poked me on AIM tonight. She wants to join Second City. I am just about beside myself with glee on this one.

I really should have some clever segue or something here, but I'm bushed and need to work tomorrow, so I'll just ask: does anyone local have anything planned for the Super Bowl? Turns out one roomie is working and the other got invited to a party with work colleagues, so I'm on my own. If anyone doesn't mind me crashing their fun, or if anyone wants to come over, I will provide food either way. |Db
It's two in the morning. I'm getting up at six to catch my flight. I should be in bed.

I'm laughing too hard to sleep right now.

This is why. )

HEY [livejournal.com profile] secondcityrpg MODS, CAN WE DO THIS? PLEASE? 8D

...no, seriously, can we do this. XD
Small updates today, since I'm bushed.

I have yet to have any more job interviews, or to hear back from the temp agency I signed up for. I know I've only just applied there and need to be patient, but man, that is one quality that is not hard-wired into my system. I need to start applying for things on the Pepperdine Alumni Network again, I think, if only so I'll feel better about things.

...I bought a month's supply of V8 the day I quit DEX. I told myself I'd have a job by the time I finished the last can. I'm on my last six pack as of this week, and I'm not feeling too great about it. Go, self.

It also doesn't help that I enjoyed the hell out of my weekend off, then got lectured for taking said weekend off by my mother when I called her for loan information yesterday. I don't call her very often anymore because I know exactly what she's going to say about my employment situation and I don't want to hear it. It's not like I've been doing nothing for a month.

/GIGANTIC POUTY HUFF

As far as the job-hunting blog goes, it looks like oncomingtraffic is the winning name, provided that's not too many characters for Blogspot to handle. I'll link it when I get it set up and have an entry or two up there.

In less GRR ARGH EMPLOYMENT news, Old Spice parodies will never get old. I had way too much fun writing that one.

And when the stupid in one particular thread got to be too much, I took that frustration and had some fun with Linkara instead. 70 comments in two hours. I seriously love you guys.

In other news: really, dA? Really? Fantastic and epic fail, right freaking there. I'd have a hell of a lot more to say about it if I weren't braindead - I want to be coherent when I talk about a subject like that. For now, I'm going to smack it with the failstamp and glare at it until I can brain well enough to address it properly.

I will eventually start one of those 30 Day Memes, once I polish off the last six or so days for the KH one. Way the hell behind? Certainly.

For now, I'm off to crash out, as I will be up again early tomorrow to teach an older gentleman how to use his computer. I actually like chatting with him - he can be a lot of fun, even if we are still working out the difference between single and double clicking.

One Mew down, one to go. Come to me, Yang Mew.
For those of you who missed the last entry, I have indeed finished my weekend-eating project. [livejournal.com profile] nalina fixed my audio problems, and the AMV will be up on YouTube sometime this evening. I will definitely be double posting when that happens. If feedback is positive, I may well enter it in convention AMV competitions, just to see how things go.

Now that that's over, I'm trying to get rid of the plot bunnies that have been hounding me. It just never ends, does it. XD

Thanks to my weekend off, I'm way the hell behind in RP. Can anybody tell me if I owe you tags...? I know Linkara's got two and Usopp's got two, but aside from that I can't remember any back tags I need to do. Kia's memory is terrible.

Also, SUPRAIZ!PIRATES is possibly the best development ever. I absolutely love you people. XDb

In a non-RP related note, I have these lovely blank sections on my profile that I need your help filling. You know that one-sentence meme that goes around every once in a while that I have never done and can never find when I need it? Yeah, I'm trying that one, so:

Describe me in a sentence. It can be as serious or silly as you want. In turn, I'll put all those sentences in a section on my profile.

My personal caveat is, please keep it clean. Pretty sure you guys will anyway, but nonetheless. ♥

Finally, that KH 30 Day meme, for which I am several days behind:

5. Favorite Mini Game

You know, I never really made a habit of playing a lot of minigames - I was always too busy going NEEDS MOAR PLOT 8O. That said, I did like mail delivery in Twilight Town, if only because it was quick, to the point, and not tough enough to get utterly frustrating.

Plus, performing a skateboard jump to deliver mail to a pidgeon in midair is never not funny.

6. Favorite Magic Spell

Cure. Oh man is it ever Cure. I feel like that's a bit of a given, but nonetheless. Aside from that bit of obvious, I really liked what I've been calling shotgun spells - they're the ones that shoot a concentrated blast that really flies. In KH1, it was Fire; in KH2, it's Blizzard.

7. Favorite Summon/D-Link

Once again, I pretty well fail the point of the game by not using a whole lot of summons. XD Press X to Kill Things, indeed. I was particularly fond of Genie in KH, though - he was certainly useful against Lock, Shock, and Barrel.

All 30 Days )

Man oh man it's been a long past few days. Work's actually been picking up a bit - for a given value of "picking up" - and I've actually been a bit occupied there, so really, no complaints on that front. I do need to go on another egg hunt, though.

I'm moving tomorrow! Sunday is going to be a lot of putting stuff in cars and ferrying it from one location to another. If anyone local wants to help, I pay in brownies, and guys, I do make good brownies. |Db

I'm going to take a break from XI for a while - maybe a week or so. I need a bit of time and distance to Figure Things Out. This happens with my games every once in a while. /shrug

Second City also has me headtilting in confusion. I mean, on one hand, I am absolutely loving what's going down. Linkara's going to be an honorary Strawhat at this rate, which I find hilarious. Rosette needs to do more, but being Buffy for a thread has definitely been good for her. The part that's making me headtilt is J. I mean, I was hoping this latest plot would give him something to work towards or at least be good for him, and instead he's been absolutely humiliated. It is IC, and I don't know what else I was expecting with Lara involved, but the guy really needs a break and he might not get it with me at the helm. The lesson here: check Dear Mun more often, and remember that this is indeed a game based on the Dresden Files.

So basically, Kia's RP at this moment can be summed up with "Son I am confuse." There are times when pretendy fun times break my brain.

Incidentally, I really need to finish that Usopp app. I've got, what, four days? Five? Something like that.

On a completely unrelated note, there's a new trailer for Epic Mickey, and it is...well, epic.

BBS C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER
I haven't posted for a solid week. Neglected blog is sadly, sadly neglected.

Of course, this could well be because I've been spending most of my time on LJ in my RP journals. In my defense, however, epic things have been happening. In this past week, Linkara has nearly been eaten by a vampire, Rosette is kicking vampire ass, and Foxx has fixed Caboose's computer after he tried to feed it a cookie (...don't ask), helped build and run a time machine, and punched Jack Spicer. It may not have been the greatest of weeks for all my characters, but I'm certainly enjoying myself.

Also, between watching Thriller Bark with [livejournal.com profile] edward_hyde and [livejournal.com profile] universejuice and my natural propensity towards doing stupid things in regards to RP, I think I'm going to app Usopp. For those of you who don't know, Usopp is part Badass Normal, part Butt Monkey, and can pretty much be summed up as Batman the Cowardly Pirate.

No, seriously.

Eleven years' worth of canon to cover before August 24th. Bring it on.

What is wrong with me ;~;

Incidentally, I am in need of some good OP icons. /stares at TB buddies expectantly

In other news, that egg is taking a long time to hatch. I've been advised to give it a few more days before I check the nest, though, so I'm trying to take it easy for now. The other egg, however, needs some poking.

My life what is this craziness. Seriously.

Anyways I'm gonna go ahead and finish up that music meme...a week late...8D

Day 29: A song from your childhood

There's this great CD (though it was a mixed tape way back then) that Avon and Disney put together called For Our Children. It's well-nigh impossible to find nowadays, but my brothers and I nearly wore it out back then. It also had Blanket For a Sail, Getting to Know You, Chicken Lips and Lizard Hips, and all sorts of other fantastic things. :D I can actually upload it at some point if anyone wants it. Either way, this is the song that my brothers and I would always ask to be played over and over and over again.

Day 30: Your favorite song at this time last year

Warning: this video is absolutely spoilery as hell for Princess Tutu. So's you knows.
[livejournal.com profile] amorsinseramada can vouch: this one was at the top of my most played list on iTunes by well over a hundred views, and it stayed there for a very long time. There were days when I'd just throw it on repeat and let it go.

The Full 30 Days )

So yeah, that's thirty days of music. I might need to do another one of these 30 day memes, if ony to keep things going. Does anybody have any good ones?
kiaxet: (I believe in schadenfreude (NC))
( Jul. 16th, 2010 03:31 pm)
No, I don't know what I'm doing.

I am, however, hoping that whatever it is, I'm doing it right. I'm also enjoying myself. |D

No music meme today - today's prompt requires thinking for me. I'll just do a three-parter when I get back on Sunday.

...BBL DISNEYLAND 8D
Of course, by "the ocean" I mean Linkara.

Emails~ )

He ^_^-ed at me and everything~ I am so stoked 8D

And then I will be at Disneyland all weekend, which severely cuts into my app-writing time. No matter- I shall prevail! (Of course, since I linked him the game, I had better do a damn good job, I think. ;;;)

Music time because why not~

Day 10: A song that makes you fall asleep

I don't usually fall asleep to music; this one, however, does help me relax quite a bit. (I also arranged an a capella version at one point, though I couldn't get anyone to perform it with me.) I loved this song before I knew what it was.

All 30 Days )

I had forgotten that some of my best writing and craziest ideas come sometime after midnight. Sadly, that's when I try to get in bed so I can get up on time for my job, which takes place during my notably unproductive hours of the day. If there were some way for me to work from home after nine or ten p.m., I feel like I'd be much more productive. This is the problem with holding a day job when you're nocturnal.

Having a good time in [livejournal.com profile] secondcityrpg, though. Wolf belts turned out to be just as much trauma-inducing goodness as I'd thought. I've also discovered I write ridiculously long narratives when I'm in the mood.

Speaking of Second City, those of you who were with me in chat after one last night this morning already saw this crazy idea, but...I want to app Linkara. Yes, that Linkara. I also promised to email him and ask his permission (what the hell, self) before I wrote an app. I plan on doing that sometime tonight. Watch this space for more updates, I guess.

Also on the calendar for tonight: seeing The Sorcerer's Apprentice with Canon, as soon as he tells me what time we're going. Hopefully not too late or I won't be able to go. Hmm.

...oh man it's at 35% on Rotten Tomatoes. THAT'S BETTER THAN TLA. I CAN HOPE. I THINK.

Enough of that madness. Let's have yet another day of that music meme.

Day 09: A song that you can dance to

Oh jeez, how about half my iPod?

In the interests of narrowing it down, I took the two songs on the mix currently in my car that make me want to dance whenever they come on, even if it's when I'm doing 70 southbound on the 101. Don't worry: I'm a safe drive-dancer.

This video isn't the entire song, but it's well worth it for the choreography and the sequence itself. I absolutely love this show.

IF CHRISTOPHER WALKEN CAN DANCE TO IT, ANYONE CAN DANCE TO IT. HELL YEAH.
Also, the better versions of this video all had embedding disabled. Still, you get the point.

All 30 Days )

Also, you all knew the Old Spice guy is doing personalized video responses to comments on Twitter, FaceBook, YouTube, Yahoo, Reddit, and just about any other social networking website you can think of, right? Go check that stuff out. They're awesome. XDb
It's a lot of same-old same-old over here - work's tough in eight-hour stints, I'm alone in the apartment, RP's chugging along at a good pace, and I'm both trying to and trying not to convince myself to pick up Wizardmon and/or the Prinny Squad over at [livejournal.com profile] secondcityrpg.

This is to say that applications are open and I am stoked and a half about week change. Werewolf belts what. And I have a muse dumb enough to try to figure one out.

Here's a hint: it's not Rosette.

Yeah.

I decided to do that writing meme that's going around using the sample from that EBA/DW fic that's supposedly going to get written whenever my creative writing drive returns ahaha.

I write like
Margaret Atwood

I Write Like by Mémoires, Mac journal software. Analyze your writing!

You know, I am perfectly alright with this. :Db

Anyways! Youtube spam time!

Strangely enough, this is [livejournal.com profile] nalina's song and [livejournal.com profile] universejuice's and [livejournal.com profile] edward_hyde's anime, but the video just strikes a chord (despite its regrettable lack of Franky):

The definition of nakama, ladies and gentlemen.

ALSO. 8D. I found the Best Comedy/Best in Show AMV! Quality's nothing special since it's a recording of the presentation (since Scintilla won't release the video until the 30th), but it's here and it is still full of lulz.

It's also a major earworm. :Db

And now for the music meme!

Day 08: A song that you know all the words to

...shut up it's on my playlist. Plus, it's true. I'll bet a good number of you remember the words to this OR to I Want It That Way. /linefaces at

All 30 days )

In other news, there was a fire in the hills north of my work today. Good times. o_o

Also CHECK OUT THE BRAND NEW ICON~ I really needed that when I went on my Responsible Chore Spree Saturday and really was cleaning all the things.
"Today" actually kind of starts "last night," when my flight was delayed for 75 minutes and I wound up sitting with a whole group of preteen Twilight fans and their chaperon. It was surprisingly fun! They were chatty and not overwhelmingly sparklepire-oriented, which was nice.

They also asked to get a picture with me once I informed them of my last name, so. Yeah. Crazy times. |D

And then I freaking got home at two in the morning. I wasn't even coherent at that point.

Today has just been...well, interesting.

The Semi-Fail:
- I did an episode of my little brother's LP with him, which for some reason didn't record. He's none too keen on having a do-over.
- I missed this giveaway twice in a day. Cue me neurotically refreshing that post every so often in the vague hopes that I'll catch it in process.
- I also missed epic 2C things last night. I shall have to tag into that sometime.
- In an attempt to pick up fried chicken for dinner, I was sent to King Sooper's. Right in the middle of the deli guy getting the order together, my mom called and told me to go to the other King Sooper's ten minutes away to pick up a flower order and just get chicken there. After asking guy to disassemble order, I arrived at other King Sooper's to pick up flowers and found that the chicken counter was already closed at 7:30 PM. Cue buying flowers and heading over ot other King Sooper's to - you guessed it - get fried chicken from a very confused deli guy. Oi.
- The dog has dandruff. I didn't know this until he put his head in my lap and I was scratching it. Eeeeew.
- SPIDERS. FOLLOW ME. EVERYWHERE I GO. AUGH.

The Strangeness:
- SPIDERS. FOLLOW ME. EVERYWHERE I GO. WTF.
- Having free time at all this weekend.
- I thought I would be informed what hairdo/nail color/etc I would have as a bridesmaid. Evidently I'm to figure these things out on my own. Oh-kay then.
- Bought two $1 scratch-off lotto tickets at the first King Sooper's and won $2. Redeemed them at the second King Sooper's, used the $2 to buy two more $1 tickets, and won another $2. Might as well have not bought lotto tickets at all.

So yeah my life has been crazy 8D

IN OTHER NEWS:

First of all, [livejournal.com profile] ormery, I have a question for you:

Is it okay if I use this for an icon?

And HEY EVERYONE ELSE, if Squeaker says it's okay, would someone be willing to put my SS name and friend code on it? I need a FC icon to prevent further trading fail. |Db

AND ALSO. Who all is going to AX? I know you are, [Unknown site tag], and I am stoked to meet you! Who else will be there on Saturday? I SHOULD LIKE TO SEE PEOPLE 8D

Aside from that, there is wedding prep to do. I have no idea what I'm doing over here.
