Against my better judgment, I've started reading The Harlequin. Y'know, Laurell K. Hamilton's latest.

I do have to say I'm impressed that there hasn't been any sex yet. I'm only about a hundred pages into it, but in the last LK book I read (Incubus Dreams), there'd already been four or five good-sized sex scenes by then.

I only wish I were kidding.

She, of course, makes up for it by in-depth discussion of uber-Sue powers and sex talk. Yeah, fun stuff.

Y'know, I got into this series because she raised the dead and killed vampires. Simple yet creative premise and excellent description. Now about the only thing that's creative is just how many different ways Anita can have sex with her male harem, and just how many and varied her excuses can get for having the aforementioned sex.

I've come to the conclusion that she needs to raise a gorram zombie (because that's a good apsect of the series that's getting ignored for the erotic nonsense) and shoot somebody. I miss Laughing Corpse, darn it. Things were simple then.

At least Edward's in this book.

ETA: Page 148. They just finished a sex scene.

DAMMIT. ;;;
