Satellite transmits my voice

I realize I owe you all a post pertaining to life things, such as jobs (I has one 8D), summer housing (staying in Calabasas), thesis (I'm just about finished), and such other things. None of that is on my mind right now, however.

I just watched The Beast Below and I would like to ramble for a bit.

( I wasn't kidding when I said 'ramble,' by the way. Also, spoilers. )

The name of the game is the same as the game here - I have a fic idea that's just been eating me. I, of course, blame The Eleventh Hour, the newest episode of Doctor Who. I watched that with my roomie, did my mindless getting ready for bed routine, let my mind wander, and poof, fic idea that's just kept developing itself every time I give it the idle brain space in which to do so.

And what is this brain-eating fic, you ask? A Doctor Who/Elite Beat Agents crossover.

As far as I'm concerned, they both have aliens and music and that is good enough for me.

I actually have almost everything pretty much figured out (as universejuice well knows, given that I've just about talked her ear off about it) - it's equal parts DW and EBA and all sorts of fun. I am, however, having a few character issues, which is where I'm hoping my lovely flisters can help me out.

I just. I don't even know, guys. I need a few dedicated betas and I need some good advice before I start this thing. I might also need some encouragement in general to start it at all.

Also, would anybody be interested in seeing a radom-ish scene I have planned for it? Because I've been toying with this one since it struck me.

Lesson of the night: a martini that involves creme liquer and vodka will eventually curdle. Drink it before it becomes alcoholic yogurt.

Not quite sure why I'm still drinking the thing. I might need a spoon soon.

I had some epic and rather embarrassing adventures in cooking today. My task was to make cherry bars (which went off without a hitch) and peppermint fudge. For those of you who have had it, peppermint fudge is melted white chocolate and pounded candy canes mixed together, spread out, allowed to set, and then broken into pieces. It is basically the easiest dessert ever. We usually melt the chocolate in the microwave - heat in small increments and stir in between so it doesn't burn.

I don't know why, but for some reason today I just could not melt chocolate. I don't know if it was because the microwave is having issues (Mom called the repairman and he's coming tomorrow) or if it was because we used Ghiradelli chocolate chips instead of Toll House, but I could not make it work. The first batch somehow wound up with the consistency and smell of cheese - I have no idea how that happened - and the second batch had the consistency of Play-Doh.

I had a lot of fun with the second batch. |D

Peppermint fudge never happened for tonight's party, but Oreo truffles and cherry bars did, and they were both well worth it. :3

Also - and this is completely different - I'm not really having problems with my brother's girlfriend anymore. Something's changed in the few weeks I was back at Pepperdine, namely the fact that she doesn't make me want to break walls with my face anymore. I'm going to try to reserve judgment until I see more of her, which I inevitably will. We'll see how this goes.

Is it too early to start shopping for Christmas?

More to the point, is it utterly tactess to email the link to this 24-hour sale to my mom and tell her in no uncertain terms that I want Season 4?

Because these usually sell for. You know. Seventy bucks. And they're going for less than 35 until midnight tonight.

Also, evidently Gallifrey has a group discount for Disneyland parkhopper tickets good from February 8th to the 22nd. Sounds good to me~ :D

All that's left is to buy a ticket. I am so looking forward to this year~ \o/

...first, yes, I do know I have quite a bit to post about, like my grandma's arrival and the epic six-hour stint of laser tag last night (from which I am still incredibly sore), but for now DOCTOR WHO BROKE MY BRAIN.

I decided to watch Naruto last night, specifically the battles between Deidara and Gaara and Chiyo, Sakura, and Sasori.

I was bored out of my mind and quickly turned to MST, especially for the Sasori fight. He looks like he's eight, has the worst gorram Bambi eyes ever, and wears mascara. Mascara. It was pretty bad. XD;

So I don't think I'll ever watch Naruto again, because it's dead boring. Well, okay, maybe I'll go find the battle where Sasori gets his arm ripped off by Kakashi...but after that, probably not. It was really just boring. XD;

In other news, I got my cancer shot today. I'm going to be one less. XD;

...for those of you who got completely freaked out by the word "cancer," don't worry, it was just Guardasil. I'm fine.

Starherd, Kae, I'm almost done with that map. I'll transfer it to paint and send it to you when I've finished. In the meantime, we need to have a Doctor Who session.

I've been bitten by the Guitar Hero bug. It's just too much fun. :D;

Aside from the fact that storage is a pain (though I still have nothing on yuukihikari and her moving stories), my Edward muse has taken over my brain (what else is new), and I seriously want more Nanne Gronvall music, I think that's all for life so far. :3

I've decided it's time for a new layout. I love you, Katamari, but it's been a while and I'm ready for some change. I'm thinking Ninth Doctor or Kingdom Hearts (maybe world themed? Gummi ships? I dunno, something). Is there anybody out there who has one lying around, or who wants to make one? ^^

Better yet, is there somebody out there who can teach me to make my own?
