Four and a half hours into my work shift and nothing has been accomplished. Yes, I do blame you.
Yes, the Sonic comic was fantastic, but reading it and the ensuing time spent poking around on dA was really not helpful to my homeworking needs (namely those two papers that need to be finished by Thursday and Friday, respectively). Now I'm caffeinated (would you believe that's accidental?) and going slightly out of my mind and unable to think straight enough to read or write...and still not getting any work done.
I might just put on the last few videos of that LP, because I need something to calm my brain down. I am just @_@ right now and that's not a good state to write a paper in.
IN OTHER NEWS (i.e. the rest of Kia's day)
I DDRed for the first time in weeks today. I'm out of practice, and CSFIL (though not as fast as CSFIL Speed) is still ridiculously difficult. I need to remember that my ability to pass Burning Heat and Kakumei does not automatically mean that every nine-step Heavy song is doable.
...I had a fantastic time and if I can drag my rear out of bed early enough I am so doing it again tomorrow. :D I have convo so it might not work, but I SHALL TRY. *heroic pose!*
I'm booked solid at the writing center all this week. It's the weirdest thing - normally I have one appointment daily, two tops, for a total of maybe three/four hours of real work all week (in six and a half hours of being signed up). This week I have six hours' worth of tutoring. I was fried after an hour and a half today; I can't imagine how I'm going to feel after tomorrow, which is my long (and nearly completely booked) shift.
ETA: Now it really is booked solid. Thaaaaaat's going to be interesting. Caffeine, here I come...again...
I was gonna say something else...oh yeah, Heroes. Heroes has gone batshit crazy and all my Sonic parallels have fallen through (with the possible exception of Peter, because as my roomie pointed out, someone who really shouldn't be using a gun was using a gun and constantly running out of ammo. I lawled so hard at that). I called about half the episode and was not impressed with much of it. The comic store guys were pretty cool, though.
And today was course evaluation day for Religion. Ladies and gentlemen, the best part of an English degree is the ability to be completely bitchy and make it sound good. I am such an English major. :D
And a rather interesting side story for Religion: we had a high school girl (from Australia, nonetheless) and her mom come in to observe our class today. When leavingan incredibly uneventful, boring, and otherwise completely standard session of class, I told my sister that I felt like I should have warned the poor girl away from taking one of Daughrity's classes. When we got outside, one of my sister's classmates in another class walked by and they stopped to talk about assignments. Not five minutes later, who should show up but the visiting girl and her mother.
So I decided talking to her would be a good idea. "Hey...look, I'm sorry to give you such a terrible impression, but if you come here, don't take one of his classes. They're terrible."
Both she and her mom were pretty happy to be getting advice, actually, and they wound up picking my brain about who was good for religion (Willis for 101 because all my freshmen love him as a teacher and he's a nice guy, DeLong for 102 because she's fantastic, I have no idea for 301 because I'm stuck with Daughrity) and who wasn't (gee, guess who). It was...kind of an interesting conversation, and I have no idea if I did the right thing or not. "Interesting" was definitely the word for it.
...so yes. Some day.
To finish it off, have some one-click memes. They're quite interesting. :3
