Remember last night's post complaining about the utter lack of waitressing job?
Well.
On the Border wants to hire me.
Let me say that again, because I'm not quite sure I believe it either.
On the Border wants to hire me.
That, my friends, is a waitressing job. Hoo-ah. :D
I loved talking with the Server Manager today. He was a really nice guy, actually managed to find the application I'd turned in in March (unlike every other store I'd applied to over spring break), and talked over it with me. He just came into the manager position last week, so he wants five or six new people on staff. He said the only thing he was concerned about was the fact I'd only be there four months (the line that's been the KISS OF DEATH for all my other interviews), and I said true, but I was a hard worker and I'd give him excellent service. He said that was what he liked to hear. KISS OF DEATH SUCCESSFULLY EVADED, CAPTAIN! He wants me to come in on Thursday at 2 to take a practical/logic/common sense test that he says most people pass easily, and then a ten question interview. I personally hope to be on staff by Cinco de Mayo, if only because it's gonna be wild and I want to be in on that. Tips are better if you can keep on top of a busy house.
Plus, Cinco de Mayo in a Mexican restaurant. Come on.
I also did my interview at Buckle today. It...was interesting. The manager really seemed to like me, and they say they'll notify me of their decision in a day or two via email. My only concern with the whole thing is, the dress code for employees is brands that they stock or stuff bought from the store.
I have absolutely none of either. Whups. XD;
And finally, I have an interview with Champp's, a restaurant and sports bar, tomorrow at 3:30. I'd also love to work there, if only because it's right in the middle of the Shops at Briargate (read: Yuppie Mall), is almost always busy, stays open 'til 2 most nights, and just sounds like a whole lot of fun. (I'll be the first to admit I like burgers more than tacos, actually.)
The Elephant Bar, on the other hand, isn't hiring for another two weeks. Whups.
At the moment, I still have a few eggs in the Sears basket, but quite a few of them have moved to On the Border, with one or two in both Champp's and Buckle, just in case. Hopefully things will go well. :3
