Well they're gone now...but yes, there were nails (just the heads, not the pointy parts) sticking out of the floor. I, of course, discovered this by stepping on them.

I'd rather they stay all the way in the floor, thanks. I can certainly send them to you if you like...

The toilet goes off all the damn time. The maintainance guy told me it's because it's an old building and the plumbing's all wired together, so sometimes we hear it when somebody else uses the plumbing...but he also told me we'd only hear it once every few hours or so. It's been going off once every five minutes.

So the toilet is possessed. We're calling it Bob. It hasn't corrected us yet, so we figure the name will stick.
