Today was...interesting. Up and down.
High points included getting in all the classes I need for next semester (though there was a heart attack in there, I swear), an incredibly short History class, an awesome Rhetoric class, and making a AA* on A (For Extreme) on heavy this morning doing DDR.
Beware the incredibly heavy geek vibes. X3
I had a lovely scene this morning where I woke up before my alarm, crashed back out, woke back up with my alarm, enrolled...and discovered the computer thought I didn't have the necessary requisites for one of my mandatory classes, despite my having completed said requisites. One very short panic attack, a call to OneStop, a transfer to the Humanities division, and a transfer to the head of the division later, I'm in the class. That worked out well.
We spent my entire Rhetoric class talking about a conference a few members of the class had attended last Friday. Evidently one professor taught an entire class on and about YouTube - assignments were making videos, leaving comments, and pretty much seeing if YouTube could be used as a higher learning site. We only got through about half of it, but it was pretty interesting (in a very bizarre sort of way). We also wound up looking up the Soulja Boy dance, since it was heavily referenced in part of the YouTube class and one of our class had never seen it before. That was...interesting.
And before anybody asks what Soulja Boy is and goes to look it up? Don't. Just. Don't. That song will never leave your head, and that's not a good thing.
Far as the final paper for that class goes, I have never been so gung-ho to write a final paper before (even one fifteen pages long, eek). I started finding some excellent sources this morning, people who I've been emailing asking for their papers as references have emailed me back (one even requested a copy of my paper when I finished), and Dr. Goodman was pretty shocked when I told her all this. She looked really pleased about it, and I know so far I'm having fun. (That may change when it comes due and I have nothing done, buuuut for now I'm enjoying it.)
I'm fairly certain I have a few other things about my day to ramble about, buuuuut I'm tired and don't feel like blathering further.
Except this: for anybody who saw my last entry, I'm going to hopefully have that survey up tomorrow afternoon (with the best of luck, y'know). If you know anybody who posts on 4chan, if you could link them to it that would be fantastic. Thank you all~ ♥
