Hello to the members of
fst and to everyone on my flist! I figured since it's Anything Goes month at
fst and it seems to be a popular pastime, I'd make a FST for
daisychainrpg. It's all under the cut~ :D
Smile For the Camera: A Project Daisychain FST
Project Daisychain is a multifandom RP based in the world of the JJ Abrams film Cloverfield. Sure, there's a giant monster and parasite crabs with jaws like staplers of death and no way out of Manhattan, but really, it's the characters that make everything so very interesting.
Locking Up the Sun - Poets of the Fall
It's a bad trip on a sinking ship where no one seems responsible
Scapegoat to rock the boat/we need someone expendable
Volunteers to face the fears/can we be sensible
And find a way to break the fall
Find out the cure for all
This basically is the Daisychain theme song. It's a fantastic fit and a hell of an earworm to boot.
When Worlds Collide - Powerman 5000
Now who's the light and who is the devil
You can't decide so I'll be your guide
And one by one they will be hand chosen
Now this is what it's like when worlds collide
The game starts basically the same way for everybody. No matter where they were, they suddenly find themselves in Manhattan lacking any possessions they might have had save the clothes on their backs. Any special powers? Good luck using those.
This particular section of lyrics was chosen because I like the first line. I had no idea the rest of the verse said that. XD
Prayer of the Refugee - Rise Against
I'll tell you stories of a better time in a place that we once knew
Before we packed our bags and left all this behind us in the dust
We had a place we could call home and a life no one could touch
It's not the same for everyone, but most people want to go home. Now. C'mon. Home would be good. Unfortunately, it doesn't happen.
These Walls - Trapt
Why do I read the writing on the wall
Why do I read the writing on the wall
There's this mysterious graffiti that shows up in the city in sporadic locations. Nobody knows how or why or what it really means, but somehow it's always poignant.
Who Are You - The Who
I woke up in a soho doorway
A policeman knew my name
He said you can go sleep at home tonight
If you can get up and walk away
Of course, the going theory now is that someone is bringing people to Manhattan. Nobody has any idea who or how or why, but somebody is behind it. Everybody says so.
Bug Bytes - Alien Ant Farm
The steel cage is binding,
I’m broken down and nervous just still wanting more
But first, along with the monster, they have to contend with these crab things. They're sneaky, vicious little buggers with bites that do not heal. Better start carrying around a weapon if you want to survive walking the streets.
This is another song that was chosen for the name, since most of the lyrics read like cracked out poetry. Thank you, AAF.
Headstrong - Trapt
Back off, I’ll take you on
Headstrong to take on anyone
I know that you are wrong and
This is not where you belong
And if you think anybody's happy about this situation you're out of your mind.
His World - Crush 40
He's the tower of power/admits no shame
Untouched, crushed, will remain
To one, to two, to three, to four
Heading straight for an open door
We've got four categories of people in the city. The first are the heroes.
Frontline - Pillar
When it's over, we can say, "Well done"
But not yet 'cause it's only begun
So pick up and follow me, we're the only ones
To fight this thing until we've won
The heroes are obviously not going to take this without a fight. They're out to get off this godforsaken island, hopefully with everyone in one piece and the monster in several.
Never Turn Back - Crush 40
Well now I'll never turn back
I never turn that way
No matter how life tries to faze me
I'll turn the other way
Now and then my head starts to spin
But I'll never turn back again
Though, let's face it, what they've tried hasn't always worked. In fact, nothing they've tried has worked yet. This does not, however, mean they're giving up.
Harry's Game - Celtic Woman
Imtheochaidh soir is siar
A dtainig ariamh
An ghealach is an ghrian
Fol lol the doh fol the day
Fol the doh fol the day
We have a total of one detective in the game, and he certainly gets around. If you need to know something, plan something, or get a charm, go to Harry. He's in the phone book
The translation for the lyrics is fantastic - "I will go east and go west/From whence came/The moon and the sun/The moon and the sun will go/And the young man/With his reputation behind him/I will go wherever he came from/The young man with his reputation behind him" - and let's face it, both charater and mun keep everybody on their toes. I had to.
Hero - Chad Kroeger feat. Josey Scott
Oh but heaven, no heaven don't hear me
And they say that a hero can save us
I'm not gonna stand here and wait
Either way, the heroes aren't waiting around for - well, for heroes. They'll take fate into their own hands, thanks.
My Eyes - Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog
I cannot believe my eyes
How the world's (filled with filth and lies/finally growing wise)
But it's plain to see
(Evil/Rapture) inside of me
Is on the rise
Then we've got the people who walk the line. Is life/the world/Manhattan fantastic, or does it suck? We'll let you know when they figure it out.
Sympathy for the Devil - The Rolling Stones
So if you meet me
Have some courtesy
Have some sympathy and some taste
Use all your well-learned politesse
Or I'll lay your soul to waste
We also have the villains.
The Evil That Men Do - After Forever
Balancing on a ledge
Living on a razor's edge
You know, you know
The evil that men do lives on and on
Evidently the villains have a pretty hard time keeping in line. With such a tight network, even one step out of line gets passed on. There are secrets here, but they are few.
I Can't Decide - Scissor Sisters
Oh I could throw you in a lake or feed you poisoned birthday cake
I won't deny I'm gonna miss you when you're gone
Or I could bury you alive but you might crawl out with a knife
And kill me when I'm sleeping
Believe it or not, none of these particular methods of murder have ever been attempted. We did have a villain hire a ninja to give poisoned coffee to a hero once, though. It was kind of epic.
People Are Strange - The Doors
When you're strange
Faces come out of the rain
When you're strange
No one remembers your name
When you're strange
When you're strange
When you're strange
Finally, we have the people who aren't really allied one way or another but are definitely a little less than sane. I'd imagine formatting their journal entries is a nightmare.
Dragon Dance - Tatterdamalion
Instrumental
And of course, Clover herself. Every monster deserves techno rave music.
Monster Mash - Bobby "Boris" Pickett
(They did the mash!) They did the Monster Mash
(The Monster Mash!) It was a graveyard smash
(They did the Mash!) It caught on in a flash
(They did the Mash!) They did the Monster Mash
Crack Track number one! It was chosen for the name and the fact that Clover seems to have a sense of humor.
Choccy
Who loves the chocolate
Everyone loves the chocolate
Nobody hates the chocolate
'Cause everyone loves the chocolate
Crack Track number two! Based on this, audio from here. Enough said.
Take On Me (Literal Version)
Watch out for them
They're gonna beat you up with a pipe wrench
Climb through this hole
Show this guy then cut back to these two
You go in first
I'm gonna kick some ass with my own pipe wrench
Crack Track number Three! This somehow became required listening in chat. Somehow, we even wound up with a thread entitled "Pipe Wrench Fight." The video which explains it all is here.

Also I find it way funnier than I should that there's a Dr. Horrible song on this.
