Thee are just some days my body hates me, I swear.
To set the scene, the first cadet we ever sponsored, who graduated from the AFA, cross-trained with the Army, served several tours in Iraq, and is now running his own squadron, is down to visit until tomorrow with his girlfriend Leah. We all love Jonathan, and Leah has proven in short order to be awesome. This is a good thing.
Now, when Jonathan comes to visit - which is not very often - it's tradition for us to go do laser tag. Last time he had an army buddy over and my little brother and I absolutely owned them. We keep a running score, and as I have said before, we have the most epic laser tag place ever in town. Thing is, it's not open Monday-Wednesday - they reserve those days for private parties and corporate events - so we had to go today.
Last night, after the game, I wound up with the same thing I had after the last AFA game I went to - chills and my stomach just being unhappy at me. My mom and my older brother the GNC specialist are convinced it's a combination of eating habit fail, sleep fail, and dehydration, so I drink water and crash out for nine hours. All day today, I've been trying to take it easy - haven't been hungry but I'm trying to eat small healthy things, keeping a huge cup of water around and working my way through it, all that jazz. I haven't been perfect, but I've been okay.
Of course, the general picked this morning to visit, so that was lovely.
Throughout all of this, I still figured I was doing okay. The four of us - me, Jonathan, Leah, and Patrick, my little brother - got in the car to go to laser tag. About two minutes in, my stomach decided to chime in with EXCUSE ME WTF R U DOIN? And then the general stacked some back pain on top of that stomach fail. There was no way I was going to survive a twenty minute drive there, two fifteen minute games, and a twenty minute drive back like that. I asked them to turn the car around and drop me off back home, and then I told them to go have fun.
I totally haven't been looking forward to this for two weeks or anything.
So yeah. Missed mass, missed laser tag, probably not going to be able to do much for dinner despite the fact we're doing tritip - which is awesome - and probably not going to go to Tuesday's AFA game if this is what happens afterwards. I don't care how faulty that logic is - this is twice it's happened after a game. The last thing I want to do is go tempt fate two days before Christmas.
Pardon me; I'll be in my corner, crying in frustration.

It was a two-day thing last time, so that's what I'm hoping for now. I'm just marking time until tomorrow.
