Actually, this'll probably be pretty boring - most of this is mundane, everyday stuff.

I went to Kabuki last night with the anime club. The food there is *amazing*. We met this guy there who was either a) drunk, b) crazy, or c) all of the above. He comes up to us while we're sitting outside (we had a group of ten and had to wait a bit for our table) and starts complaining about how this place won't give him noodles while he waits. (The hell was he expecting, peanuts at the bar? The only bar there was the sushi bar, so probably not.) He then says - I kid you not - "Who wants to guess how many kids I have?" Then it's "I drive a Pinto with a beat-up gas tank! How about that?"

Then he lit up a cigarette, giving me a legitimate excuse to RUN THE HELL AWAY.

The upside of it is, now  [profile] pixelberryand I have an inside joke - all we have to do is go up to each other and ask, "Who wants to guess how many kids I have?" and we'll both start cracking up. Just like my roomie laughs whenever I hold out my hands and go, "LOVE ME! LOVE ME!"

...but that's a joke about my older brother's batshit ex-girlfriend, and I'll save that for another time.

We went to get boba after Kabuki. I swear I'm hooked on that stuff now. Thanks, guys. XD;

I'm supposed to be writing a paper on V for Vendetta for my film class. I don't feel like doing it, especially since I don't even think the instructor will really read it. Really, think about it - it's a one-credit pass/fail class. This thing is not my top priority.

...but I need to do it anyway. *headdesk*

And I got this e-mail this morning...

Dear Singers,

I am emailing some of you an update and for most a news flash.

[Choir director] had a light heart attack yesterday afternoon.  After several hours of tests and observation, the doctors determined that he needed a stint placed in one artery of his heart to relieve some blockage.  This was around 10:30 last night.  He did very well and will be recovering for the next week.

He is at Santa Monica Hospital in CCU and will go home on Monday.  [Choir Director's Wife] is doing well, but I'm sure she would appreciate your prayers.

Thus, I will need to conduct the choirs on Thursday night, as the doctor does not want [Choir Director] to exert himself too much during the first week of recovery.  When I was at the hospital this morning around 1:30am, all he could talk about was the concert this week and wanting to conduct his choirs.  I must say he argued substantially with the doctor, but she stood her ground with him.  I know he is disappointed and will deeply regret not having that experience with you, but we will do our best to cover for him this week and make him proud.

So, say a little prayer and maybe send him a short email.

I will see you on Monday.

...I nearly had a heart attack myself when I read that. I mean, I know he was old, but he's not THAT old! He's got mor verve than most people half his age! This is crazy!

My God, I hope everything goes well. The man is amazing and brilliant and I don't think I've ever had a better choir director and...well...we all want him back. I don't know what any of the choirs would do without him.

He's definitely in my prayers.

Just so I don't end this on that desperate and depressing note, I posted my first drabble on kh_drabble. You should all go look. :D

[/shameless pimpage]

Love and have a nice day! ^^

I'm sorry about your director...I hope he gets better. That's really horrible :(.
And not to cheapen the moment, but I adore boba. Gives me a headache if I drink too much, though, for some reason.

Omg last night WAS so much fun! But I SERIOUSLY wanted to call 911 if that guy wasn't going to go away. At the same time I didn't want to cause a commotion...who knows if the guy had a....GUN!

Oh and ditto to Mr. P's condition. That whole thing shocked me and this isn't the first time I've had a teacher I knew closely get hurt pretty bad. I'm definitely keeping him in my prayers.
