Disneyland Saturday! I went with
uk_not_ok and
lynxgriffin, so of course it was awesome. Lynx went off to do some fantastic arts, so Caitlin and I waltzed off to do rides and whatnot. Previous to going to Disneyland with Caitlin, I've never been stuck on a ride. Ever. At all.
Last time we went, we got stuck on Indy for about half an hour. They fixed the ride, let us go through again, and sent us on our merry way.
Saturday, we got stuck on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, the one ride in the entire park that I am irrationally paranoid about being stuck on. We got stuck on the third lift track. They had to get someone to "tie the car down"eeeeeeeeeeeeeek longest twenty minutes of my life before they could get us off...because yes, they shut down the ride and led everyone off. I have some fun pictures of the inside of things, and we got a shiny fastpass that would let us into anything in either park (except World of Color and Toy Story, go figure). From what I heard of a cast member conversation, someone stood up on the ride, which is an automatic shutdown.
I'm not sure quite how stupid you have to be to stand up on a ride that goes in and out of low tunnels, but there you go.
The funny part of things was posting a Facebook status from my phone talking about being stuck and, two hours later, getting a concerned text from Kristin asking if we were still stuck on the ride. I love my roomies. XD
Tower of Terror got the shiny pass thanks to the 80+ minute wait, and it is awesome as always. Also, the dragon was back at Fantasmic. I cheered like mad for that one. :Db
Note to self: ask about group rates for shiny seats at Fantasmic. Don't forget.
In other news: one of the trailers for Tr3n (YES THEY'RE MAKING A THREEQUEL OMW) that's included on the Legacy Blu-Ray set got leaked on YouTube a few days ago. It's not available anymore - Kotaku linked it and that was the end of things - but it had some pretty epic stuff, including:
- Ram's user revealed (HELLO, RAM)
- A relatively in-depth look at the Flynn Lives movement
- Alan pledging to revamp the company but saying that "baby Dillinger" has "earned his place. He can stay." (That's not going to bite everyone in the rear later. Right.)
- The press hounding Sam as he arrives at the Encom building to take his placein the circle of life as CEO. When they ask if he has any statements for the press, he just does this:

SAM FLYNN: BIGGEST. TROLL. EVER. You better believe I screamed after that one. Is it Tr3n yet?
Finally, on a much more serious note, I'm sure you've all heard about the earthquake/tsunami/reactor/volcano hellish four-step that's hit Japan in the past few days (and if you haven't, Google is your friend. Get on that. Now).
help_japan is an auction community raising money for relief aid. My auctions are here and here. Please bid - if not on mine, then on other auctions you like - and/or offer something you can do for an auction. Every bit helps, and Japan needs all the help we can give it.

*totally not planning extended!Tron KH-canon*
(Mr Boyfriend claimed throughout Tron: Legacy that Bruce Boxleitner was actually dead, and that's why Tron isn't really seen. ¬_¬)

(I need to start writing that KH3/Legacy fic again. AQUA VS. RINZLER. IT WILL HAPPEN.)
...did your boyfriend miss the fact that Bruce also plays Alan? And that the reason we don't see Tron is because the CGI process they used with Jeff Bridges is ridiculously expensive in general and therefore not financially viable for multiple people? (Of course, communal fandom headcanon has it that Clu's repurposing process screwed up Tron's code and with it his appearance, which is why he has that helmet on all the time. If Disney adopts this as canon, it's a good reason for him to keep the helmet for the third movie, thereby avoiding that CGI process and the subsequent infrequent forays into the uncanny valley and I'm rambling now. I'll stop. |D)

Yes. Yes he did. But to be fair, so did I. Mostly because I was too busy being all 'OMG LIGHT BIKES I DIED ON THOSE IN KH :DD'. Because I'm not up on Tron knowledge, I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that Bruce didn't do all the crazy acrobatics himself? XD
The idea of a glitchy face really reminds me of Doctor Who. And whilst it'd be epic, maybe the helmet should stay for a third film. (UNTIL A BIG EPIC LAST MINUTE COMPLETELY-DESERVING-OF-CAPSLOCK REVEAL!)

Hang on, have you seen the original Tron? Because if not, it's on YouTube and you need to educate yourself. Like, yesterday. :Db No, there was a martial artist under that
Vanitashelmet doing all those stunts.Really? Which episode? And unless Disney has a bigger budget and a lot more time to do that whole CGI song and dance again, I'd imagine Tron will have the helmet or something else for the third film as well. (SCREAMING. SO MUCH SCREAMING. YES PLEASE.)

Actually, I haven't, but whaaat? It is?! And here I was, going to
downloadbuy it. Consider me there! XD (And yeah, I never noticed that, but a total opening there to graft in some KH. XD) Seeing as helmet = mad martial arts skillz, I guess the helmet is here to stay!I'm thinking Miss Evangelista in Forest of the Dead. I'd say Disney might want to avoid the twisted faces to prevent mental scarring for children, but yeah. This is Disney, after all.

It has been for quite a while, actually - my roomie keeps watching it. Enjoy yourself. :Db (I swear, after watching a minute of the fight between Rinzler and Sam, I leaned over to Lynx and went, "Are you getting Vanitas vibes right now?" She replies, "Actually, that's Tron." We're still calling Rinzler "Tronitas.")
I have actually never seen Forest of the Dead! And actually, there was a program with half a face in Legacy, if only for one scene, so we know Disney's okay with doing stuff like that.

Aw no, reference fail! Never mind. And there was? Obviously I need to rewatch this, which is as good a reason as any!
(Also, thanks for the big on

Yeah, if it's horror, I've probably never seen it, as I am a complete wuss. The program with half a face is actually really early in the movie, when Sam first arrives on the grid and gets picked up by the Recognizer and strapped in between several programs:
Program on left: Not the games not the games not the games...
Sam: *looks at program on right* What's his problem?
Program on right: *looks at Sam, has HALF A FACE AAAAAAA, snarls*
Sam: o_o
So yes. Huzzah shock value.
(And hey, that is money well spent. :Db)

Oh yeah, I remember that now! Mostly because it seemed to be the 'now I've started, I'LL NEVER STOP' type of screaming. Though somehow this is still less freaky than things I remember from Disney films as a kid, like the Jafar genie, Robin Hood nearly being dead, and that über-creepy spider coach from Beauty and the Beast. XD (Childhood trauma, what childhood trauma)

(Also, lemon martinis. ^^)
I'm glad that (omg I can't believe I'm even using this name, ffs get me out of this fandom) Tronzler has his helmet on all the time. Because young!Bruce is just too babyfaced to even imagine him being sinister. Its just not possible. I really don't think the man is capable of looking evil.
And yes, Sam Flynn is a troll. Moreso than everyone that is now telling me that the cast hasn't even yet been signed for another movie. ;_;
