So it's three in the morning and I just got back from Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. I am so fried right now.

My roomie is in from CA and went to see it with me. We...wow.

The review, in list format )

THE VERDICT: A, would likely see again. For all my complaints, most of the negative stuff was nitpicking, and I had my jaw on the ground for most of the movie. It was quite the ride, and I did enjoy it a good deal.

I heard someone's got the soundtrack...would you be willing to share? :3

And roomie and I generated two awesome phrases today:

"Way to be a team plater."
"Quick! Back to the audiobots!"

Oh, sleep deprivation, why so amusing.

What the hell is in the water around here. I have no idea what happened or why, but a week ago just about everybody became a terrible tipper. We get a metric ton of verbal tips (high praise and ten percent of the tab) and a metric ton of people who are outright cheap. Fifteen and twenty percent tips are about unheard of.

And it's not just me, either. It's the whole restaurant. I should talk with servers at other restaurants, see if it's the same there.

I worked for six hours tonight and came home with $45. That's a bit more than 10% of my $427 in sales.

It's been $60 tips off $650 sales, $40 tips off $497 sales...and I'm not doing anything differently. I'm still making money, yes, but the amount of money I'm making is not proportionate to the amount of ass I'm busting making sure these tables are fed and happy. Needless to say, it's frustrating.

That, and I went in today on my day off because we were expecting a rush, and said rush never came...yeah. I work tomorrow and Tuesday too.

And then on Wednesday [livejournal.com profile] amorsinseramada comes down and life gets awesome. :D

In the meantime, I'm off to DC to go write some incredibly depressing stuff involving J. Why are all my muses so ridiculously headstrong, especially when they're in trouble...? |D
Because really, I post about them enough. I blame my roomie for this one, though, since we started talking about my plans for Comic Con this year.

Because I am the moron who will make a dancing fool of herself in front of most of Comic Con. )

Now all I have to figure out is music. I'm debating Never Gonna Give You Up, but Puttin' On the Ritz looks to be fun, and there's a metric ton of disco on my iTunes that is promising (because gorrammit I love Earth, Wind, & Fire). I also need to finish my costume - those shoes are hard to find.

This is also between assembling a Flonne costume, a Bad Horse Singer costume, and...um.

HEY DAISYCHAIN PEOPLE GOING TO COMIC CON. CFP-TCI/TRANSMISSION FAILURE shirts, Y/N/M/WTF?

In other news, I have a cold. Time to go attempt to sleep it off.
I covered a shift today at work when I wasn't scheduled. We got our asses kicked. On a Tuesday. Welcome to graduation season, I guess.

I've discovered I can't go a shift without getting an EBA song stuck in my head. Tonight, it was La La. Yes, as in "You make me wanna la la in the kitchen on the floor."

Which is a bad thing to be singing in a restaurant, by the way. Kitchen floors there are pretty disgusting.

I am just really lucky nobody opened the walk-in fridge while I was belting it out.

In other news, I miss my roommate because she is awesome.

This is why. )

There are so few people with whom I can have that kind of conversation. XD

In RP news, this is the most fun I've had in quite a while. Spish, you are awesome.

And I really should sleep now. |D
I'm fully expecting this to be all over the place, since I'm tired. |D

MAJOR CRAZY PLOT STUFF went down in DC and in Paixao tonight. I am quite pleased at the turnout for both. Jafar muse has come roaring back, Rosette is definitely being a leader in her own right, and I have never seen Silver so angry. He should be fun to play like that. Also, J makes me facepalm every time I tag for him. Not sure if that means I'm doing it right or what.

STUDY GROUPS. Study groups need to happen. [livejournal.com profile] memoryofpride, [livejournal.com profile] orelle_peredhil, when can we meet? Tomorrow after noon or Monday before 3 would work well for me (especially since my finals schedule is still in the gorram air, but that's a rant for another post) - how're things looking for you guys? Can either of you get ahold of Liz?

Went to Cheesecake Factory tonight with my roomie - fantastic experience, per usual. The new appetizer menu is awesome, and our server was awesome as the day is long (though roomie and I exchanged sidelong glances when she introduced herself as Rose - Doctor reference, whut). I think we scared the hell out of the manager, though - I asked for him to come by the table so I could tell him how awesome Rose was, and he walked up looking like we were about to rip his face off. I'll bet, since it was ridiculously busy, that he'd been chewed out more than once that night. I'll also bet he was relatively new at the position. The sigh of relief he breathed when we said Rose was awesome and our night was great was almost funny to watch. Poor guy probably doesn't get much of that. Either way, there is chocolate raspberry truffle cheesecake in our fridge and I am a happy camper about that.

My mom brought Mac and Finn - the new greyhounds - home yesterday. We might not keep Mac. That's another long story.

I need colored ink for my printer. The bookstore is closed tomorrow. This'll be interesting.

AND FINALLY. I'm three hours late but the thought still counts:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY [livejournal.com profile] travitaemorte!

I have returned from my roomie's house with food and stories and stuff.

For now, however, I'm going to crash the hell out - I am sick of working on this paper. Yep. I have, however, discovered something in my research:

LeSeptieme (2:14:09 AM): ...I am realizing why I no longer read comments on news posts
LeSeptieme (2:14:17 AM): LJ users en masse are like the Sonic fandom
Universe Juice (2:14:25 AM): stupid as fuck?
LeSeptieme (2:14:25 AM): Never freaking happy.
thesecretmagic (2:14:29 AM): rofl
Universe Juice (2:14:30 AM): that too
LeSeptieme (2:14:33 AM): ...that too, Sarah

Happy Day After Bunny Day, LJ.
I am off to my roomie's house for the weekend! See y'all Sunday night~ ♥

Can I just say that I miss three day weekends? Because really, I do. We really should have more of them.

I slept in until eleven.

I caught up on tags.

I went to the beach for the first time in forever.

I went laser tagging with my roomie. Strangely enough, Google turned up the exact same place that [livejournal.com profile] selan and I went to my freshman year. Still pretty awesome, though the lack of places to take cover made things difficult. There were a metric ton of How I Met Your Mother jokes, however.

Then we took what amounted to an eleven-hour break and watched half a season of How I Met Your Mother, pausing in the middle for Big Bang Theory and the new HIMYM episode on CBS. I now love this sitcom. Thank you, roomie. XD

I studied just enough to pass a quiz this morning. Pray to the god of partial credit, indeed.

And I mailed a box of Poptarts to England. [livejournal.com profile] tsusilver, I hope you like strawberry.

THAT IS IT SO FAR. Yay. :D

The (rather brief, as I am tired) rundown of Halloween night is as follows:

Real Trick-Or-Treating )

Fictional Yet Lawlarious Trick-Or-Treating )

So that was my Halloween. My All Saint's Day will likely be full of homework and too much candy, huzzah. |D
I emailed all my roomies for next year last night, and I've already received replies from [livejournal.com profile] amorsinseramada (my roomie all last year) and one of them. We're waiting on the other, but it sounds like we're all going to get along well. Hurrah. :D We've also got a gigantic shopping trip to Target semi-planned for when we arrive. We've got our own apartment; we'll need dishes and stuff.

I'm trying to listen to today's Paul Harvey, but Media Player isn't buffering it very well. It could very well be because I've got the Doctor Who Season 3 OST downloading in the next window, but eh. Worth it. :D

Mom and I are going to see Iron Man tomorrow. Yes, we're staying until the end of the credits. We always do. XD

Les, the manager from On the Border, was supposed to call me today and did not. I called OtB and was told today was his day off and he'd be in at 3:30 tomorrow. This, of course, means I'll be calling OtB at 3:35 tomorrow afternoon.

Tonight's Idol episode. Criminy. )

Yeah, I'm done rambling about reality TV now. XD

I'm seriously *this close* to taking on two new muses, one in each RP. For Daisychain it'd be Chisame, and for Paixao...Raiel.

Yep. I'm that crazy.

Problem is - and this is incredibly stupid - I feel nervous playing them with their canonmates. I mean, if one of my characters is in a new situation interacting with people from different canons, then there's precedence as to how they'd react to that certain type of person, but not that person specifically. There's wiggle room. Interacting with other canon characters, who have well-established relationships and interactions in canon settings but not in this new setting...like I said, it makes me nervous. I feel like I have to Do It Right when I'm not 100% certain what "right" would be in this particular situation. The only exceptions to this rule are Luxord and Vexen (because they act the same to virtually everybody, and somehow they're just that much smoother when it comes to interacting with other org members) and Flonne (because Jen has me beaten whipped trained well).

That, and in case we haven't noticed, I'm really bad at this whole idea of Crack. It's hilarious, but I'm not a crazy!humor person, I'm a snarky!sarcastic!punny!humor person. I don't know if I can effectively pull off talking mouse companions and near-constant poorly-timed nosebleeds. I just have no idea. XD;

[/RP insecurity]

Aside from all that...my birthday's in a bit more than a week. Hurrah. :3
Incredible, innit.

It snowed today. Just dumped the white stuff all over the place. Considering it was in the seventies yesterday, none of it stuck to the pavement, but there's quite a bit of it still on the patio furniture. No, I don't know why that amuses me so much, it just does.

And the job hunt continues )

In other, spectacular, Pepperdine related news:

Drumroll, please... )

...and I have a 3.9 GPA (which effectively gets me out of scholarship limbo), and my brother is coming home this weekend to visit. Good times. :D
Yeah, that's the long and short of it. My roomie, whom I have ranted about and complimented and loved and come to know very well, is leaving to go home tomorrow. No more Pepperdine for her.

And really, I think my little ranty with [personal profile] tafkae  really sums it up.

I'm going to go app Luxord for Paixao, because Paixao needs a Luxord and I kinda said I would (i.e. I just reserved him). I have a week. I will do it.
So I've been rather busy lately. I finally got around to opening KHII, and...well...*heehee*
But I'm not talking about that yet.

I went to go see John Kerry speak in Smothers yesterday. It was...interesting...

In other news! KHII! Whee!

I've just realized I managed to switch from first to second to third person and RP a little all in the same entry. It's time to go get breakfast, take a shower, and blow up my brain with more KHII before my Harry Potter seminar this afternoon.

Totally looking forward to it. ^^
Probably going to be a bullet-format entry. Or something. SO MUCH CRAP going on.

First of all: Tomorrow is the club fair. I'm going to be pimping touting the campus anime club, for which I am the librarian/historian. (I get to take pretty pictures and write stuff up, hooray! Club LJ time!) I should probably go make sure my camera's battery is charged. Yeah, that would be good...

Second: I just found out my roommate was one of the people who helped create Mugglenet.com. (HOLY CRAP WOW.) She also had never eaten ramen before. So tonight we argued over how many Death Eaters showed up at the graveyard scene in GoF and I taught her to make instant ramen. ^^

Third: My mom is going to visit my grandparents on Wednesday. Evidently they're not doing too well. I also found out my aunt has cancer for the second time. (Considering that I didn't even know she'd had cancer a first time...well...) It's a single tumor in her liver, and she'll probably be going to Seattle to have an operation. It isn't spreading and the doctors are hopeful, so I think things will turn out okay, but I'll definitely be praying for her. Hard. And lots.

Most people would be worried and terrified out of their wits at news like that. I'm worried about the fact that I'm really not. I'm scared for her, but I'm not deathly afraid. I'm not crying. Mostly I'm just tired - I haven't been getting enough sleep. I guess this is just how I deal...it may not be "normal," but I suppose it works. It's not like I don't care, it really isn't. I just...well...I'm just confused. Last time somebody in my family had cancer that I knew about, it was my grandma on my dad's side and she died. That was only two years ago.

There are definitely some differences between my grandma and my aunt, however. My grandma was old, this was her second bout with cancer, and it was small-cell...cancer of the blood, I think. My aunt is young, healthy as a horse (she raises racehorses, so I'm sure that helps), and has a fairly easy type of cancer to treat.

...I don't know how to end this. Oh, wait, yes I do.

God please help her. God please help all of us.
Hello Rachel, hello Melissa, and hello Megan! To alleviate fears about real names on the internet, yes this entry is public, but it's backdated, so unless somebody has the direct link or is searching for it nobody will find it.

So, with that out of the way, on to the important stuff. Bolded items are still needed.

List of College Supplies )

If you can think of something I've forgotten, or if you can bring something, leave a comment/email me and I'll add the item/your name to the list.

Finally, so far as arrival dates go:

Katie: August 13
Megan: August 13
Rachel: August 21 (?)
Melissa: August 23

Alright, let's make this work! :D
