Oh man my life what even |D

I had that followup interview on Tuesday and...haven't heard a thing. Okay! Waiting is something I can do.

I managed to read Game of Thrones in about three and a half days, and I'm still not entirely sure what on Earth I was reading that entire time. I haven't got it in me for an extensively spoilery discussion at the moment, but I am borrowing the next few books from [livejournal.com profile] orelleperedhil, so that should be all sorts of interesting.

...seriously what did I just read I don't even. Martin means business, man.

I went to Vegas for the first time on Wednesday! I went to go see the Air Force play in the Mountain West conference and to hang out with my parents. The game was one of the most infuriating games I've ever been to - seriously, I'd be willing to bet somebody had money on the game that they really shouldn't have (i.e. coaches, refs, somebody), the opposing team's fans booed our team as they came onto the court, and the refs were flat blind - so that was not good, but the rest of the visit was great. I managed to win ~$100 at craps and found a receipt for $140 in a change machine, so that was an unexpected but awesome windfall. Also, the food at the Paris is amazing. Cannot wait to go back in May.

On the job front, I got a call yesterday, an interview today, and I start working tomorrow in a receptionist position 30 minutes away (hnnnngh, but that's life) at a place that requires business professional dress. I need more than one suit jacket, I think. It's a temp gig and it holds down the fort while I look for more permanent things, so that is good!

And Wondercon is this weekend! I still need to figure out what I'm cosplaying as - I know I'll do Applejack and Linkara, but I haven't figured out a third yet.

So yeah. Life suddenly got busy. Who knew?
COMIC CON WAS HUUUUUUUUGE

Everything else goes behind a cut because it got image heavy. )

In conclusion:

At Comic Con, even the walls troll you. The end.
I should probably start updating this more than once in a blue moon, huh. |D

I'm up to 90 minutes a night of internet time on my self-imposed online restriction. It gives me a bit more time to do tags and whatnot, but it's still not enough to really hang out and chat. I think what I miss doing most is just turning on AIM and reading a book or something while holding the occasional conversation. I feel like I have to be focused while online or I am Wasting Time. It's a different way to look at things, certainly; tbh, I just miss multitasking.

COMIC CON IS IN FIVE DAYS HOLY CRAP. WHAT IS THIS I DON'T EVEN. I think this is the most convoluted and detailed any of my cosplays have ever been, and even now I'm still assembling bits. I live for the last minute, don'cha know 8Db It should be fun, though, and I'm looking forward to seeing all sorts of people and meeting [livejournal.com profile] bouncy_erbear! Because awesomeness attracts awesomeness, yes? Yes.

TBH, aside from freaking out about Comic Con and the upcoming move, nothing much of note is going on in the Life and Times of Kia. Work is work is work, and I usually get home from that and work on something - editing or cosplay or whatever needs working on. The huge Disney tribute is on hold for now, as is every other editing project I have going on, on account of - you guessed it - SDCC being right around the corner. My priorities might be a tad skewed, but I do have them. Also, most anime conventions won't let you enter a Disney music video, yes? It probably has to be mostly anime or game footage.

RP is...we're screwed. Just gonna lay that down. We are screwed. |D Also, I might not be tagging Jason for a bit because of recent NSFW Extremely Not Okay happenstances in this season of True Blood, so don't wait on me there.

Does anybody know what's going on at [livejournal.com profile] kh_drabble? It's a fun challenge, and we've had quite a few entries, but I don't remember any other time when there've been virtually zero comments on any of them. Is everyone just busy this week? \O_o/

Because this entry isn't disorganized enough: cosplay! Razor Wit finally arrived today, which means I went out of my mind for about an hour unpacking it and squeeing like a moron and trying to figure out picture poses (and subsequently scraping up one arm, but hey, worth it). I have odds and ends for most of my costumes, but my big thing's been putting together costumes for [livejournal.com profile] amorsinseramada. She's agreed to join our Friday MLP group, so I'm getting a Pinkie Pie costume together for her, and she chose her other one going solo, so I'm making her a Candlejack getup. That's bound to be hila

Yep. WonderCon. :Db

Highlights include:
- Nathan Fillion calling in the Green Lantern: Emerald Knights panel
- Nathan Fillion taking Hal Jordan back from Ryan Reynolds
- BRONIES
- IC shenanigans
- MAIN STREET ELECTRONICAL PARADE
- The Count +9999 damage
- The local tea garden
- Neil Gaiman is such a troll
- Shenanigans with Ryune
- Getting hit on by someone much older than me...multiple times
- "I thought you'd known each other for years!" "Nah, I only met her an hour ago."

I'm sure there are more, but I'm bushed right now and will try to do a full writeup at a later date. For now, the public photo album is here, the more detailed one is on Facebook, and videos will be uploaded later. For those who do want Doctor Who clips, I do have them, but they're not going on YouTube. Come to me individually for those. |Db

In other news: Tron: Legacy remix album is here courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] uk_not_ok and the Amazon.com bonus track Sea of Simulation is here courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] rebmakash. Thanks to both of them for some awesome music. :Db

On the RP front, I need to figure out what the deal is with Linkara, talk with Lyra about doing stuff with Eb and Rosette, get caught up for Rarity, and try to convince myself that picking up Jason Stackhouse is a bad idea, no really, it is, and if I can't do that, then come up with a journal name for him. Life as usual, really.
I love Halloween, guys. Seriously. I am the biggest wuss on the planet, which kind of defeats a lot of the point, but I love dressing up. Candy's also a perk. So yeah, I love this holiday.

That's probably why I celebrated it three times this year. :Db

Three nights of Halloween, complete with costume pics! )

We've only had one trick or treater tonight - a four year old girl who, when prompted by her mother, simply looked sad and said, "Candy." - and given that it's 11 pm, I don't think we're getting any more. Still, this weekend was an absolute blast, and I had a fantastic time with people. Successful Halloween? I think so.

I have a new default icon and I love it so. Would you look at that. So pretty.

Anyway! I did indeed hit up Disneyland on Tuesday with the wonderful [livejournal.com profile] lynxgriffin. I dressed as Xion on her suggestion, and despite the fact that it got ridiculously rainy at some points, it was still quite a bit of fun. Of course, I come bringing woefully oversized pictures, since Photobucket is weird like that sometimes.

Pictures ahoy! )

And that puts an end to our little picture odyssey. Honestly, I was having too much fun to pull out the camera (and subsequently give it to Lynx and beg for her to take a picture) too terribly often.

In other news, job interviews are still going and will deserve an entry of their own when I finally get around to it - maybe sometime tomorrow. For now, I need to get back into the swing of tagging and maybe actually get a consistent sleep schedule. That would be amazing.
Oh man I am so tired. Ugh. My sleep schedule is screwed sideways, what with falling asleep in pieces and waking up before my alarm despite going to bed late. My stomach did not like anything I ate today, and I know for a fact that I am coming down with a cold. In terms of health, tomorrow's gonna suck.

I had an incredibly visceral reaction to trying on a wig today. Evidently they skeeve me the everloving hell out and I just forgot. \O_o/

Job search has picked up some slow momentum, but is still mostly ineffectual. I don't know what I expect from my first day, but eh.

And tomorrow, if I don't feel like the living dead, I need to have that lovely I-Quit-DEX conversation with my mom.

...hello, flist, how're you doing? XD Life doesn't suck as much as I'm making it out to, promise. I just hate getting sick and that clouds my perception of eeeeeeverything. Tomorrow's errands will include picking up Zicam and cold remedies, because man alive I refuse to still be miserable by the time the San Diego game rolls around this weekend.

So yes. Herp derp Kia needs sleep.

Ugggggh what a long gorram day. Getting up at seven is not working for me. ;;; Didn't help that I spent all of today thinking it was Friday. Accursed weekend is so far away ;~;

Also, I lose my internet Friday! The whole complex switches from Charter to Time Warner, and until our guy shows up on Saturday afternoon, I have no internets. Guess who gets to wait around at home for this guy to show. 8D Yee-frickin'-haw.

Also also, I need help from the cosplayers and the Pokemon people on my flist. I'm going to do closet cosplay for Anime Expo this year - I'm only going for a day and I don't have time to do anything elaborate. I do have a good-sized wardrobe, though, and I'm going home in two weeks, so I can grab stuff from there. I was thinking of doing a Pokemon gijinka, kind of like these guys except far less elaborate. I am very mildly crafty and prefer Pokemon that are on the cuter side...also, I refuse to do hair dye/wigs. Anyone have any suggestions for...well, anything I could possibly do? I'm just braindead at the moment. \O_o/

Also also also finally, HAPPY BIRTHDAY [livejournal.com profile] ormery! You know I lurves you, even if I am a tad bit late. |D

Crazy silver and red sunglasses.

"You're the Inspiration" playing in the local Hallmark (yes, I started to wibble).

"Let's Groove" (Earth Wind & Fire) playing in Goodwill.

Picture perfect suit jacket for five and a half bucks get.

It's been an EBA kind of day.

The Dodgers game last night was a blast. We arrived in the bottom of the fifth (thanks to LA traffic, which was horrendous) and ended up sitting behind the rowdiest people in the stadium in what they called the "Drunk Seats." It was AWESOME. I screamed myself hoarse, cheered like a maniac, ate a hot dog, and nearly burned my tongue off sucking on the perpetually salty shells of stadium peanuts. To top it all off, the Dodgers won.

What a great night.

Then we got up and went up to Calabasas (FINALLY) to go shopping this morning. The only downside I could find was that, even though I found pattern, zipper, and thread for my Organization costume, they didn't have enough cloth. I'll need to order it off the internet, and I'm a little worried about what I'll do if it's not right. (I have the type and color I had in the store, I'm just worrying like stupid right now.)

The upside? I finally have a copy of Kingdom Hearts II.

This is where the crazy fangirl moment comes in. Those of you who know me know it involved much jumping up and down and squealing.

And yes, Tara, they were right there. ^^

In all honesty, it's half Tara's right now. I'm to pay her back next month, seeing as most of this month's budget is going to my cosplay. ^^ It's still sitting on my bed in its plastic wrap - I haven't had time to play it yet, and tomorrow and Monday are insanely busy. *sigh* It could be a while, but IT WILL HAPPEN! GABLAR!

...Thank you, Patrick, for the sound effect. ^^;
