Nintendo Power reviewed Sonic and the Black Knight.

Look at that score.

Look at that score.

HOLY SHIT, SEGA TEAM, DID YOU DO SOMETHING RIGHT FOR ONCE?

For the first time since Sonic Adventure 2, I am going to go party.

I didn't really want to brag about grades until they were all updated (one of my teachers seems to be just a bit behind), but eh, I'll do it anyways. I'm pretty certain of what grade I'll be receiving in that class anyways.

SO. Semester grades are:

Rhetoric: A-
Shakespeare: A
History: Pending
Convo: A
JWP: CR
Religion: B

Yeah, I have no freaking clue how I pulled that last one off. Just. No idea. Criminy. I liked my dad's reaction best: "There is a God." Ohhhhh yes there is. :D

Emu came over for the first time in forever today. We spent a good four hours talking and working our way through Subspace Emissary. It was a bit easier to work our way through the patches that Kae and I had just killed ourselves over a few days prior (we made it across the moving platform/spike combo on the first try. I have no idea how that happened), but the new material had its moments. All I can say is, Snake has the best freaking intro ever and tea does indeed solve everything.

And Kae...I kind of wasn't thinking and saved over our file. ^^;;; Sorry...

Lessee, what else...oh yes, Unreal opened today. I should probably get posting on that tonight. XD

And I should catch up in Paixao.

And in DC.

...when did RP get so incredibly busy? Just. Wow.

AND DID ANYBODY WATCH HEROES TONIGHT.

This part is a bit spoilery )

Also, I am now completely convinced that my Petrelli/Hedgehog parallels have fallen apart. At this point, Nathan is acting like Shadow would be if Mephiles had succeeded, Peter's got Sonic's traits (and the complete inability to let the jackass die) but lacks the upstanding aspects of his personality, and...let's just leave Silver out of this, shall we? It just doesn't work anymore. XD

I'll definitely watch after the Super Bowl because I'd love to know what happens next, but I think my apathy is starting to show and I can't be bothered to cover it up.

...I think I'll end this with a meme. Haven't done one of those in a while. This one's ganked from [livejournal.com profile] spiritsshadow.

And it's about movies. And it's *long.* )

Four and a half hours into my work shift and nothing has been accomplished. Yes, I do blame you.

Yes, the Sonic comic was fantastic, but reading it and the ensuing time spent poking around on dA was really not helpful to my homeworking needs (namely those two papers that need to be finished by Thursday and Friday, respectively). Now I'm caffeinated (would you believe that's accidental?) and going slightly out of my mind and unable to think straight enough to read or write...and still not getting any work done.

I might just put on the last few videos of that LP, because I need something to calm my brain down. I am just @_@ right now and that's not a good state to write a paper in.

IN OTHER NEWS (i.e. the rest of Kia's day)

OTHER NEWS got a bit long. )
I received replies to my two reviews:

Two of 'em, actually )

As well as a pair of PMs:

And this is where things get arrogant )

At this point, I gave up.

My reply: )

Believe it or not, I actually meant all of this. If he'd at least try, then hell yes I'd keep reading and reviewing. As it is, however, I think I'll just sharpen my spork and take notes. Kae, are you up for this?
The correct answer is "too long."

Thanks to yesterday's [livejournal.com profile] fandomsecrets post, I found a fic that rather amuses me. It's Super Smash Brothers fic, and...well, see for yourself.

I actually bothered leaving two reviews:

One at Chapter Eight )

~

The other at Chapter Fourteen )

The reviews are actually a bit of a challenge: I want to see if the author will respond politely or simply ream me out at the beginning of his next chapter. I'm betting on the reaming. X3

And because I promised Kae it would be done, I'm sporking the sucker, or at least the first chapter. I don't think I can handle doing all 107 of 'em.

Consider this a rating of 4 out of 5, for all the reasons mentioned in above reviews. Keep in mind the above reviews were me trying to be nice. :D;

Chapter One: In which thinly veiled insults are slung and Luigi is a LOLcat )

I do believe that's more than enough sarcasm for the evening. Anybody want to join me in reading the fic in its entirety? X3
Things that work well at four in the morning:

Written satire and sarcasm
My Flonne-muse
My sense of humor (although it could just be I just think everything is funny that late/early)

Things that don't:

Grammar
Tact
My sense of humor (for parenthetical reason stated above)

It's getting to the point where I really don't like Tuesdays. The fact that I have a religion test tomorrow really isn't helping matters.

And Boot Camp is Saturday. So much for sleeping in, huh.

...I would really, really like to play video games. It ain't gonna happen for a while, but...I would.

Oh. And my roomie was nice enough to drive me to Ralph's last night, so now I have the chocolate. I am pleased.
I can get four hours of sleep and be fine.

I can get eight hours of sleep and be fine.

Anything that is not one of those two amounts, however, screws me up but hard.

I think this explains why I can go to bed at 3:30 and get up at 7:30 to be on time for my 8 a.m. class, but going to bed at 1:30 or 2 means I sleep through the first ten minutes of that same class.

No, I don't get it either (although four hours of sleep leaves me loopy and half-asleep by the time Creative Writing rolls around at 6).

As expected, reading Negima for the past few days (although I'm not finished yet, but I intend to remedy that soon) has given me a new muse. Definitely an interesting choice considering my current cast of characters, but it'll be nice to have someone with strong Logic Fu. And hacking skills. Oh, have I ever wanted a hacker. X3 I just don't know if I should put her in Paixao or Daisychain or both. Probably Daisychain to start, if only because Erica's playing Negi there and I promised her a muse even though said promised muse was originally Asuna, though I've discovered I can't have an Asuna muse with Rosette around because they're incredibly similar and Rosette's stronger.

Although [livejournal.com profile] swingycons only has four icons of her. I'll likely be asking for icon help from my artistically inclined friends (i.e. anybody not me).

...I think I'm gonna play video games today. It's been too long since the last time I did that.

I seem to have developed mental blocks on two of my classes - or rather, one class and one book.

The class is English 305 on Monday at 10. Anybody in chat remember when I whined and moaned about having to write that essay in the style of Langston Hughes? That's the class. We've been assigned another emulate-the-style essay, didn't receive the essay until about three days ago (when it was assigned two weeks ago), and are supposed to write an essay with the title "I am a ______________" (fill in the blank with appropriate adjective). I heard that and went, cool! I can write an essay about how I'm a geek or a nerd or whatever. I'm good at that.

And then I read the essay today.

Essay: Hi! I'm called "I am a Cripple!"
Me: Um...okay.
Essay: Let me tell you all about my experiences with Multiple Sclerosis and you can emulate my style!
Me: ...D:

It's not wangsty or emo or whiny, but reading it is a bit depressing (hooray First Person POV). The author is talking about how MS has changed her life and how it's no picnic, and all I can think is, "I can't emulate this. I like being a geek."

So I'll most likely end up complaining to chat again (sorry guys!) and writing the whole cursed thing tomorrow evening. I'm going to try to make progress tonight, but...well, I know how I work.

The book I've blocked one for my Religion class. Sad thing is, it should be a really easy read: it's got big text and pictures and everything, and it explains history and politics and architecture and culture and stuff during the time of the New Testament. Interesting stuff, right? Should be. I just can't get through it.

...I'm not making any sense. I'm going to go wrap this up and attempt to get some semblance of homework done before Megan and I go see Sweeney Todd tonight.

...in other random happier news, I got a Perfect on Even Flow on Medium last night on Guitar Hero. I'd never played it before. I'm very proud of me. :Db

If one was attempting to prove that the name written in the sand next to a murder victim was not, indeed, written by the victim, would one:

A) through long conversation and on-the-fly production of evidence one did not previously have show that the victim was left-handed (when the name was supposedly written with the right hand) and the name was spelled wrong (after the victim had intimately known the person whose name was written for over six months)

OR

B) simply cite the autopsy report - after all, someone who has fallen from a nine-foot-high wall and died on impact from a broken neck will probably not be doing any writing after landing.

In other news, Phoenix Wright is definitely one of the more...interesting...games I've ever played. Considering I'm a Disgaea fan, this is saying something.
1:13 a.m. and I'm so tired I can barely think anymore.

It's official: I'm a lightweight.

Could be because of all the stuff I've done today, though. English 215 at 8 a.m., Religion 102 at 10 a.m., work at 2 (for three hours), sorority meeting for informal recruitment (I think I might get a few girls to come, yay), dinner, beating Guitar Hero, hanging out with [livejournal.com profile] shadow_wings_, and finally the activity check for Paixao.

Screw the fiddle contest, man, Satan's gone guitar. )

And even though we've both been here a week, [livejournal.com profile] shadow_wings_ and I only discovered that we live less than ten rooms down from one another tonight. Go figure. So she came over for a while, and we turned on Guitar Hero yet again. She started a band, and I showed her the not!Satan duel.

I also think I've gotten her hooked on Disgaea, only for the Prinnies. Hooray for fellow penguin fans!

Jobby-things )

Stabbity Stab Stab? Why yes, I am talking about Unreal. )

And I ramble when I'm tired, so I'll stop here. :3
I just got a perfect in Guitar Hero. My first one. X3

On very related note, I love Prayer of the Refugee.
Now be honest: how many of you did a double-take at that title?

Strangely enough, it's true. I was, and now I have the desire to make shortbread cookies rolled in crushed peppermint.

So I went and played Guitar Hero instead (as I didn't think we had peppermint). Why can't I ever play more than four or five songs before my arm starts to hurt? I wonder if I'm holding the guitar wrong.

Pointless update courtesy of your friendly neighborhood Kiaxet.
I decided to watch Naruto last night, specifically the battles between Deidara and Gaara and Chiyo, Sakura, and Sasori.

I was bored out of my mind and quickly turned to MST, especially for the Sasori fight. He looks like he's eight, has the worst gorram Bambi eyes ever, and wears mascara. Mascara. It was pretty bad. XD;

So I don't think I'll ever watch Naruto again, because it's dead boring. Well, okay, maybe I'll go find the battle where Sasori gets his arm ripped off by Kakashi...but after that, probably not. It was really just boring. XD;

In other news, I got my cancer shot today. I'm going to be one less. XD;

...for those of you who got completely freaked out by the word "cancer," don't worry, it was just Guardasil. I'm fine.

Starherd, Kae, I'm almost done with that map. I'll transfer it to paint and send it to you when I've finished. In the meantime, we need to have a Doctor Who session.

I've been bitten by the Guitar Hero bug. It's just too much fun. :D;

Aside from the fact that storage is a pain (though I still have nothing on [livejournal.com profile] yuukihikari and her moving stories), my Edward muse has taken over my brain (what else is new), and I seriously want more Nanne Gronvall music, I think that's all for life so far. :3

I need to find my denim purse. Where the heck is my denim purse?
Would y'all really be surprised to find I'm getting out of it?

I think my AIM conversation with [personal profile] lynxgriffin explains it best.

There you have it. You're not going to be hearing much KH stuffs out of me, especially in comms (I've about had it with [profile] khfanficrants). I'm taking a break. Maybe, if I'm lucky, I can rediscover the reason I started liking KH so much in the first place.

I am so tempted to say this is an elaborate photoshop hoax put on by a fanboy with too much time on his hands.

...I so hope it's real. ;o;

EDIT: Okay, I feel like a moron now. XD; Happy early April Fools, guys, courtesy of your local gaming magazine.

So. Allllllll sorts of stuff to talk about.

HOMG SNOW )

HOMG WORK )

And to switch gears yet again (WHEEEEEEE) fandom time! :D

And finally, the answers to that song meme I did forever and a freaking day ago. ^^;
If anybody wants me to upload any of these songs (or any other songs you know I have (Honky Tonk Badonkadonk, [profile] princeali_m_fanXD;)) just let me know. I'd be glad to do it. :D

AND. That is all! ^^;

I just beat Kingdom Hearts II.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think I can express it any better right now.

I went to a guy friend's room today. He just got his copy of Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, and he wanted to mess with it.

I spent a good 30 minutes on the Character Creator. I discovered that you can't make Axel (no appropriate hair or chakrams), you can't make Xaldin (hair but no lances), and you can't make Lexaeus (killer cleaver but no hair). You can, however, make Saix - just as long as you don't mind fudging hair and weapon a bit and you leave the face scar off.

...I'm so obsessed. It's absolutely creepy how bad this has gotten. ^^;

But now I wanna grab the PS2 version...the directional buttons being connected on the Xbox royally screwed me up and over. That, and PS2 controllers fit my hands more easily. What, me, Sony fangirl? You betcha.

On a completely unrelated note, I'm finally getting around to sporking Flaming Siblings. I'm joint-sporking it with Maxegn and teaching her to spork at the same time. It's quite interesting. For a beginner, she's pretty dang good. ^^

(I'm also trying to convince her to get a LJ, but that's not going as well. I need to be more coercive.)

But that's life at the moment. I'm going to bed now.
So Rush started tonight.

Rush being that great WEEK FROM HELL when everybody who wants to join a sorority runs around and does activities with them and tries to get to know them before they have to ask them to "please let me join!"

...You know I'm tired when my grammar dies.

So I've decided I'm going to put more emphasis on Delta Gamma. THEY ROCK. I clicked with everybody I talked to.

Life is definitely going to be interesting because I'll be missing bid day for work...which SUCKS...so I'm going to have to work extra-hard if I want to get in there.

But I have confidence! *Superhero Pose Away!*

Ehehheh. ^^;

Now for the KHII related news. One item on the boards tonight, folks. It's official:

CAPTAIN FUCKIN' XALDIN IS MY BITCH.

That is probably the most profanity you'll ever hear in my LJ.

I beat his rear on the first try. There was a Mickey Save involved (I will be the first to admit that), but it was still the first try. AHAHHAH EAT THAT DREADLOCK-BOY.

Hamlet dispenses more stabbity death than you.

It actually wasn't all that bad. Spamming triangle got me 1) reaction commands which helped greatly and 2) Beast's limit break in repeated succession. And my Wisdom form WINS ALL. Hooray Wisdom!

And the best part? XALDIN GOT PWNED BY A GIRL.

And not just any girl, oh no. Belle. Xaldin got his butt pwned by Belle.

I had to pause the cutscene. I was laughing way too hard to continue for a while. Even Liz was cracking up.

Well, think about it. Here's big, scary Xaldin with his deep voice and sentient sideburns, making the great big ultimatum these evil villain types tend to like to make. And Belle takes him out with the one stupidly easy move they teach you in every self-defense class on the planet: the elbow-solar plexus maneuver.

I have a newfound respect for this particular Princess of Heart. Belle = Win. MAJOR Win.

I shall be thrilled for the rest of the night. Tee hee. :D :D :D XD
So I've been rather busy lately. I finally got around to opening KHII, and...well...*heehee*
But I'm not talking about that yet.

I went to go see John Kerry speak in Smothers yesterday. It was...interesting...

In other news! KHII! Whee!

I've just realized I managed to switch from first to second to third person and RP a little all in the same entry. It's time to go get breakfast, take a shower, and blow up my brain with more KHII before my Harry Potter seminar this afternoon.

Totally looking forward to it. ^^
